STEREOPONY New Releases

The all-girl rock band from Okinawa, STEREOPONY will release an album as well as three hit single digitally on June 8. The album, A hydrangea blooms was their debut album featuring their hit song Hitohira No Hanbira which was also used for the ending theme song for "BLEACH". The three other singles, Smilife, TSUKIAKARI NO MICHISHIRUBE, and Hanbunko will also be released on June 8.

STEREOPONY will be performing as special guests at AnimeNEXT on June 18 – June 20 in Somerset, New Jersey.

Interested to hear people's reaction to the new album. Although it's obviously more fun to get new songs, in my opinion, the b-sides from their recent singles (SMILIFE, TSUKI AKARI NO MICHIRUBE & HANBUNKO - I just got the b-sides from OVER DRIVE and haven't listened yet, and "cherry my...." one of the HANBUNKO b-sides is on the album) are all stronger songs than the non-singles that were included on the album.

Stereopony announces breakup

Pop rock band Stereopony has announced that they will disbanding.

Earlier in August, the band went through a �grecharge period�h after AIMI (Vo) received surgery for vocal cord polyps. While she was recovering, SHIHO (Dr) and NOHANA (B) went abroad to study music. When the girls got together again, they talked about their future plans and ultimately decided to disband.

The members plan to continue pursuing their music careers. SHIHO and NOHANA recently teamed up with Evan Taubenfeld and formed a band called �gEVANPONY�g. Their new single, �gJust rock with me / Namida Nante Mishite Yannai�g, will be released on October 24th. AIMI will also continue to be involved in music in some way.

Before going their separate ways, Stereopony will hold their one-man live, �eAki no Yonaga wa Live de Norikire vol.2�e, on October 6th at Shibuya CLUB QUATTRO. During the live, the members will give a detailed explanation of their dissolution. The exact date of their disbandment has not been announced at this time.

Stereopony is a 3-member band that formed in Okinawa. They made their major debut with the single, �gHitohira no Hanabira�g, back in 2008. After gaining popularity with their 2nd single, �gNamida no Mukou�g, the band held concerts in the U.S. and other countries overseas.

Former Stereopony member Aimi to start solo activities

Former Stereopony member AIMI will officially start her solo activities. On June 15th, she will hold an event called 'Twinkle Communication!!' at CHELSEA HOTEL in Tokyo.


Stereopony disbanded back in December of 2012. Since then, AIMI has been holding live concerts irregularly. On April 10th, she opened up her official website as a first step to the start of her solo activities.

AIMI will keep fans posted on the details on the event, as well as her future schedule.

Former Stereopony's Aimi forms a new band

Former Stereopony's AIMI and former serial TV drama's Arai Hiroki have formed a new band called ALiCE IN UNDERGROUND. On August 17, they will hold a one-man live titled 'episode1: Kansen' at WWW in Shibuya, Tokyo.

AIMI and Arai have both been focusing on their solo activities since their bands dissolved in 2012. Prior to general ticket sales, pre-reservations will be available via Lawson Ticket from May 9.
