Yes and quite an illegal one too by Rome. U Suck He got a 5 minute penalty which the 'Nucks killed plus a game misconduct, hoping Horton will be okay for next game. As far as tonight goes, I have confidence they won't blow a 4-0 lead after 2 periods, can save on those blood pressure pills. Beaten

Though Horton is out for the series that hit seems to have really pumped them way up, in the 5 periods without him they've outscored the 'Nucks 12-1 as they win again tonight 4-0 to even the series up. w00t! Strong game for Thomas as the B's were actually outshot, Luongo got pulled in the 3rd in another less than stellar performance by him. hehe Game 5 is in Vancouver, NHL is the only league that has kept the finals in a 2-2-1-1-1 format which I think is the more fair way to do it.

Damn, the B's are DEADLY in the 2nd period. Two blowouts, which means someone will win 2-1 in game 5 Nut LOLuongo has a bad sunburn on his neck.

Think Timmah~! gets the Smythe win or lose. Guy is unreal. Either that or give it to Brad Marchand's nose. Mr Green

Oh, and this. Victory! Peace!

Good effort last night came up short as the B's once again lose late 1-0. Scoreless after 2, 3rd game this series they've lost in the 3rd period or OT, Grumble gotta find the net next game which is at home, Luongo stepped up after 2 bad games, Thomas was solid again too. Applaud

If the Canucks go on to win the cup, I can see Timmy getting the Conn Smythe. Dude has been unreal this post season, even if he had a few duds in the series against the Bolts. Bonk

He has been the best player so far for the entire playoffs Applaud except for 2 duds against TB but think it's only happened once where a player on the losing team got the Conn Smythe. 'Nucks don't really have anybody deserving, both Sedins have a horrible minus rating, Kessler was doing well but has done zero in the finals and there's no way Luongo would win it despite having 2 SOs in the finals. Good to see you again, LOLuongo.

Heh heh, barely 8 minutes in and Luongo is already resting, hmmm, but only faced 8 shots, Naughty B's better save a few for the next game. Fingers crossed

Wouldn't doubt it, been 2 of those already in Vancouver. B's averaged 5.7 goals/game at home but the away games... .67 golas/game. Grumble

Seems to be a misprint, after one period the visitors are up 1-0, that's in goals not penalties. Beaten

EDIT...10:00 PM- Sweat Sweat Sweat Sweat Sweat Sweat Sweat Sweat Sweat Sweat

Congrats, Hitomi!

Two Original Six droughts have ended in the last two years... time for the Leafs to make it THREE! Yeah

EDIT: Ugh, hate to see the rioting in Vancouver. Feel bad for the hardcore Nuck fans, but these guys are just tools Shake Head

So much for some people saying that this type of hooliganism exists only in L.A. when they win a championship. Grumble

Just making the playoffs these days for them is tough enough, think it's time to give Burke his walking papers. Twisted
Having him would help. Victory! Peace!

Announced the awards for the 2010-11 season last night, no surprises really except for perhaps Perry but he was on fire the last 2 months.

Hart- Corey Perry
Vezina- Tim Thomas w00t!
Lady Byng- Martin St. Loius
Selke- Ryan Kessler
Norris- Nicklas Lidstrom

And a reward had never heard of, the Ted Lindsey Award, MVP as voted by the players went to.... Daniel Sedin. bleh

So I was on YouTube looking for videos with the late, great, died-way-too-soon Warren Zevon when I came across this gem:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0PokDj9u09A

After listening to the song several times, I did a little research. The lyrics to "Hit Somebody: The Hockey Song" were actually written by Mitch Albom, the sportswriter; Zevon supplied the melody and , of course, the vocals. I found this interesting because the lyrics are very characteristic of the kinds of songs Zevon penned during his career. When the song was originally recorded, David Letterman actually supplied the background exhortations to "hit somebody."

"There were Swedes to the left of him
Russians to right
A Czech at the blue line looking for a fight" hehe
