Nothing to do this Sunday? The Aratani Theatre in Little Tokyo is showing Ohayo @ 2pm and Samurai Saga @ 4pm. Tickets are $10 for each show: http://www.jaccc.org/

I've got Ohayo on DVD, but I've never seen Samurai Saga.... I'd spend my $10 on that as opposed to Harry Potter. Victory! Peace!

Temp was atrocious... but even worse for Taiko Project. I had forgotten my sunblock and hat and there was not a single hat for sale there. A gal next to me (with a gigantic Canon DSLR and mile long telephoto) whose arm you can see now and then in the videos, lent me her sunblock tube and it came out so fast I was dripping sunblock with not a single tissue while trying to record Taiko Project...
bleh
Here's the first Taiko clip. I recorded nearly an hour so there will be many more, The couple in front of me kept putting up a green umbrella threatening to block my lens. Although I had the cam on a tripod to insure a nice steady video, they forced me to lift the tripod over their d...n umbrella. Then I was able to put a leg of the tripod on an empty chair.... naturally the guy behind the chair put his foot on the bottom crossbeam jiggling the chair as you will see in either the 3rd or 4th video.

Taiko Project clip 4:

These clips were recorded with my new Canon FS100 camcorder. No moving parts.... records to either multimedia or SD card. Recorded these clips to a 4GB card in high quality.. I get 1 hour HQ on 4GB. Can also use an 8GB card for 2 hours HQ. If you select the HQ option on this clip you'll get some idea of the resolution of this camera although YouTube still degrades the resolution during their optimization processing.
It is great to be able to transfer files directly from the SD card to my computer... it only takes about 10 minutes for 4GB. Then I can immediately run them through tempgenc 4 to clip and enhance color and volume if needed before the youtube upload.

Here are the last 3 clips from the Obon fest.

But don't fret. Nisei fest is just around the corner and you know I'll have some good Bon Odori clips.

I think that last song is kind of their "signature piece". I think I've seen them do it every time I've seen them. Never fails to impress. Applaud

I think you are right.

After the first few clips I had to rest my tripod on a chair to get above the stupid green umbrella... in clip 6 the guy sitting behind my chair decided to use one of the bottom crossbars to rest his foot on and almost sent my tripod flying.... Cursing
