Good comparison... Though I'd thought it'd be even faster.
Well you certainly know more about such things than I do!
In any case, I just installed my Lexmark S605 wi-fi printer to replace a troublesome HP all-in-one that was connected to my PC via USB. Setup was a breeze and the print quality is really good. I'm really happy so far.
Easy setup, affordable price, and good quality prints in a wireless package. WIN

Is the Lexmark and all-in-one as well?
I've always thought those all-in-ones were only average in comparison to hardware that just does one thing... Sort of a jack-of-all-trades and master of none.

Yes.

You're probably right. But as far as utility is concerned, for the price I think it's suitable for me who uses it primarily for personal use and some light home office duty.

Of course, now that I say that, the Consumer Reports that I'm flipping through tests a ton of all-in-ones and only a few dedicated printers.

I guess it's about what's popular out there...you know with the convergence of technologies...people seem to want things that do more, take up less space, and cost less

Yup.
Might brother's probably looking into an all-in-one, now that his Canon printer has apparently died.

There are so many choices it's hard to pick, really. A bit overwhelming and when you read the user reviews after reading the "expert reviews" it seems hard to reconcile both categories of reviews sometimes...

I usually take user reviews with a grain of salt, particularly if they're all pro or all con...

Yeah, I guess you have to...I guess you have to do your research and try to make an informed purchase, as with most things...sometimes it seems like an educated guess though.

Checked out several of the all-in-ones at Costco while I was waiting on my tires... Looks like all of 'em have wireless capability... And pretty cheap, around $100-$150.

Yeah, that's probably true, I'd agree. But for the average person the all-in-one machines get the job done. I've had my Canon all-in-one for about 6 yrs without any issues.
