After so many other forums I've participated in, I still cannot get the answers to my Saimin questions. Maybe someone from this forum can help me. Questions are :
1) At the last episode, why did Inagaki Goro want to prevent Seto Asaka from looking at the butterflies exhibit?
2) How did Seto Asaka die? Who killed her?
Saimin is a pretty good dorama. If you like Koori No Sekai, you will like this one. Of course, if you like Seto Asaka, then rush out and get this dorama. She's very good in it. |

Hi Stephanie,
I am glad to find another fan of Hypnosis. I think the ending is really touching, and I feel sorry that Goro and Seto's characters cannot be together.
As for your questions, it's something which kept me baffled and thinking since the end of the dorama, and I am coming up with my own theory on it. I will post it up once I get all the different strands of thoughts sorted out, soon!
What are your own views on it?
Aoi

Hi,
I have the same problem with the ending. Also, did both her father and sister die? He got a flat line on him heart monitoring machine and her sister was not moving at all!
Has anyone watch the movie version? Is the ending the same?

I watched the show with Chinese Subtitle. I'm a bit confused about the ending too. We need some help from the Fans who understand the Japanese language!

My personal view and it may or may not reflect the truth. :)
1) At the last episode, why did Inagaki Goro want to prevent Seto Asaka from looking at the butterflies exhibit?
Somehow Inagaki knows that Seto would die when she looks at the butterflies. (some form of died of overly excited......upon seeing the butterflies??? )
2) How did Seto Asaka die? Who killed her?
She committed suicide herself by looking at the butterflies.......I think she died of overly excitied and fear of seeing butterflies. There may be some black magic with the butterflies that caused her death. Whatever it is....... The good Seto is trying to prevent the bad Seto from killing Inagaki, so she killed herself.
?????

I just finished Saimin and how I looooove this serial!!!^^ I think it's as good as Ice World and Sleeping Forest. Why have I never heard of this series mentioned by Jdrama fans before?!?! It received pretty good rating in Japan itself 25-30% or so.
Anyway answering the questions:
Pay attention to the victims before they died! All of them see butterflies or anything shaped like butterflies, before they died. So, basically that's how the hypnosis work. After they got hypnotized, they will be just fine until they see butterflies. The same thing happened to Yuka, good Yuka hypnotize herself, so all she had to do to stop bad Yuka from killing Saga is to look at the butterflies.
I love Goro and Asaka's chemistry! Superb! I especially love the scenes in Hokkaido! Don't you think it's the only good memories Yuka ever had?? So sad...=(
The ending is so heart-wrenching >_< I feel like crying, when Saga said 'aishiteru' to bad Yuka who lost her sanity. And of course, the scene where Yuka died ;_
Hmmm...yes, I'm also curious about Asahina-sensei, Yuka's sister. Is she dead? Her father is dead for sure.
I love the themesong and the ending sequence of this dorama!! Sugoooi!!!
Overall, recommended for those who likes suspense thriller dramas! I love all the twists in this dorama!
Oh, about Saimin movie. Don't even bother to watch it! It's more of a horror genre than suspense thriller. But the movie is corny!>_< Don't expect anything like The Ring or Dark Water!! No ghosts, but it shows people died in a scary, gross and disgusting ways.

(continues)
The story is before the serial. Goro(who looks a lot more kakkoi here than in the serial =P) is paired with Miho Kanno, who acted as a girl named Yuka, too. This Yuka also have split personalities, and she is possessed in the climax of the movie, trying to kill Saga.
At one point, the possessed-Yuka almost tripped from the window. Yuka is back to her realself, cried and saying that she's very scared. So Saga help her. Saga and Yuka exchange 'aishiteru' words and hug each other. But that's the key word to bring Yuka's death!! Possessed-Yuka fall off the window again, Saga tried his best to get a hold on her, but she let go his hands.
That's why, in the serial, Saga kinda have a trauma and refuse to use hypnosis again.
It's so sad, to know both of Saga's girlfriends died =(
