Today we are going to have unusually high temps for this area. We are supposed to get into the mid 50sF. Then the rest of the week will be in the high 40sF. Great weather for NYC and its' surrounding areas at this time of year!!!

Yes I am just happy it is above 30 F and not snowing and/or icy here!!! Aaahh the joys of winter in NY! Now aren't you glad you live where you do b-kun?
I think temps were in the upper 30s to lower 40s without the cloud blanket.
yeah, it gets a bit colder up there, and without the cloud cover, it's in the 30's for you guys.
Coldest it got here so far this winter was mid 40's, maybe 42... _________________

Kogoeru youni samui.
It's freezing.
Sorry to hear about your cold weather kenjilina. Our weather forecasters said we are having temps here like in the months of April or Oct. We might even get to the 60sF this week. Very strange!!!!

The weather isn't bad. Just a little bit of snow.
Got this picture. It's from Tsunan, Japan. Taken this weekend. They have over 4 meters of snow. (~13 feet)

dang, that is a whole lot of snow!
Yes unfortunately Japan has had many deaths due to the snow this winter. Most have been elderly people either trying to clear the heavy snow off of their roofs or from roofs collapsing due to the amount and weight of the snow. It is very sad! Here is one article I found:
Heavy snow claims another life
AOMORI (Kyodo) The death toll from snow-related incidents since the start of the snow season in early December rose to 67 when a 58-year-old man was found dead Sunday under a 2-meter snowdrift next to his home in Hirakawa, Aomori Prefecture.
He had been missing since Dec. 30, police said.
The Akita Prefectural Government, meanwhile, requested the Ground Self-Defense Force to deploy in the city of Akita, which has been hit by its heaviest snow in more than 30 years, to help elderly people living alone to remove the snow from their roofs.
Land, Infrastructure and Transport Minister Kazuo Kitagawa visited Katsuyama, Fukui Prefecture, where four people have died in circumstances related to the heavy snow, and suggested the central government may subsidize local expenses for snow removal.
Fukui Gov. Issei Nishikawa told Kitagawa that Katsuyama spent 300 million yen in December alone, exceeding all snow-related expenses for the last fiscal year.
