Can someone list all the dialects of Japan? And I was watching a movie, and one of the characters says that in Okinawa they believe that men comes from a woman's rib, can someone confirm this? Thanks.

Gohmifune, looks like you've recieved an answer to at least part of your question (I don't know the answer to the latter, but try googling it), but please only create a new thread when there isn't one that exists already to post questions in.

Thanks,

Does anyone know why Japanese people love raw foods like sushi, sashimi?

It tastes as good as Jakarta endurance swimmers who swam too far.

Welcome to JDorama. I suggest you start by searching with the correct key word Japanese as opposed to 'japanesse'. This site has a whole forum dedicated to learning about the Japanese, including their language and their culture. Poke around for more information.

Before doing anything else please read our forum posting guidelines carefully. Try not to start new threads - in most cases the information you seek is in an existing thread.

So one of my friends have lived in Japan for a year and he told me something that was really cool. (Well, I think it's cool. Smile) He said that there, they don't take tips after you eat, and one time he forgot and left a tip, and the waiter chased after him for two blocks just to give him back his money.

I mentioned it to my parents and they were like "really?"

So I was wondering, would they actually do that, or is it just that one place?

- From someone who wishes she needn't pay tip. hehe

True, in most Asian countries, itLs unusual to leave a tip.

That totally rocks! haha... So do you think they'd all run after you to give you your money, or does it just depend?

Shake Head I admit a part of me feels stupid for asking that since I am Asian, but oh well. I've never personally set foot there. haha...

I'm not surprised about the "no tip" protocol in Japan: Good/great service is about dedication, honor, personal satisfaction, etc., and not contingent upon the possibility of receiving a tip... Applaud Victory! Peace!

I seem to recall Triky having an experience along those lines, if he ever gets tired of his roast suckling duck, maybe he'll check in and enlighten us.
