The joke showed here is on Aya, not on the Japanese government which is to blame.

How do you know maybe she eats whale? Hell, she eats natto...

The joke is not on Aya....it's a joke highlighting the concerns of Japanese whaling as shared between a board member from Australia, which is adamantly against whaling and myself.

You are way too caught up man....you sound like Johnny Kitagawa from Johnny's Jimusho. If you think an obviously photoshopped picture is going to ruin her career....let me tell you she has more important things to worry about.

There have been countless jokes made here and in other threads, long before you were here. None were made with serious malign intent.

Good day, it seems I stumbled upon the largest Aya Ueto gallery in the face of the web. I'm a fan of Aya (not that much of a big fan though she's my fave Japanese actress) after I watched Azumi 1 and 2. Glad to be here!

something about her in Tokyograph: Aya Ueto to star as lawyer in "Hokaben" Sun, February 10, 2008 (8:02pm EST) This spring, NTV is adapting the manga series "Hokaben" as a live-action drama), starring Aya Ueto. Originally written by novelist/lawyer Hiroyuki Nakajima, the story deals with the growth of a novice lawyer. The comic ran in Evening KC between 2003 and 2006, and is scheduled to resume in April. The protagonist is originally male, but producer Yoshio Yamamoto felt that a female character would get a better response from viewers. Ueto plays Akari Domoto, an idealistic lawyer who wants to "rescue the weak." She joins a large law office, though she is assigned to a lowly department whose only other member is her boss, who was transferred there after making a mistake during a case. While Ueto is known for her light-hearted characters in previous dramas, this series places her in a serious role. "Hokaben" will air on Wednesday nights at 10:00pm, starting in April.
