Yes, I think in Thailand J drama and some stars are known aswell. ^^
I got plenty of clippings from a Thai mag names J-spy. They usually copy and translate japanese mags articles though. Mostly myojo, I think.

wow that's pretty cool idea!!! translating japanese mags into their native language..... and J Ent is popular there? that's cool.... I envy them >_<..... J stars are not so popular here... (I guess) mostly are Koreans.... though I saw aya chan in one anime mag before (but the picture is very common so I decided not to get that)....the sad reality

I can´t tell for sure. but I got quite many Aya clippings from that Thai mag. Not sure if they are really popular but the mag´s name "J-spy" sounds like it´s mostly about japanese entertainment....
