Ueto Aya shows that she can be more than just cute in eNumero TOKYOf
Popular actress Ueto Aya is making a sexy appearance in the fashion magazine eNumero TOKYOe for its May edition (on sale March 28th).
Ueto is known for her rather innocent image and beautiful smile, which earned her the title of the eCM Queenf more than just once over the recent years. However, in the magazine shefs going to swap that image of hers for a more mature and bewitching image. In the one picture released as a preview, she can be seen wearing a sexy dress that highlights her perfect body line.
The interview that comes with the photo spread is also going to look behind her smiling face. She looks back at her life as an actress; a life that didnft spare her any time to relax since her breakthrough in the drama eSan-nen B-gumi Kinpachi-senseie in 2001. Moreover, she talks about her family, her ideal type, and reveals her thoughts about marriage.

Ueto Aya appears as a surprise guest at eSPRiNG Collection 2012
On March 28th, actress Ueto Aya appeared as a surprise guest at the eSPRiNG Collection 2012e fashion show organized by fashion magazine eSPRiNGe.
eSPRiNGf is a magazine that created the term and fashion style enachukawaf (enatural kawaiif), which refers to a style that is both natural and pretty/cute. The magazine invited 500 of their readers to this fashion show, which included live performances and a live talk show hosted by comedy group Wagaya.
Towards the end of the show, Ueto Aya appeared as a secret guest, and presented the latest trend for the spring/summer collection, which combines a feminine and classic style. Her outfit was a border one-piece by fashion label eTo b. by agnes b.e The audience enthusiastically welcomed the actress, who blew a kiss to them in return. gYou are so kind,h she said. gThank you very much. I love you!h
During the live talk she revealed, gIfm usually wearing nachukawa outfits in private, Ifm not into too elegant clothes.hi/i]
Wagaya responded, [i]gYoufre such a cutie, you can probably wear anything. You would even look stylish dressed like Hadaka no Taisho (khaki shorts & white tank top).h
They also asked her to tell them the secret behind her beauty and she explained, gWhen I have a day off, I either go have a lava bath, go to the gym, or do some yoga. I always make sure to do something that is good for my body.h
Her close friend Becky also attended the fashion show as a guest. gWe often go and have a walk together around Shibuya, Daikanyama, and so on,h Ueto revealed. gWe also like to go shopping at Marui or Parco.h

Ueto replied, gThey barely find out who we are, although Becky is not even trying to hide her identity.h The audience couldnft believe their ears.
At the end, she once again thanked the audience for the warm welcome. She revealed that she was very nervous before coming out on the runway, since she hasnft been on one for a very long time. gMy upper lip is always protruding when Ifm walking,h she said embarrassed. gHowever, all of you welcomed me in such a kind way and Wagaya did a nice job heating up the atmosphere beforehand.h

Aya Ueto to play Misuzu Kaneko in TBS special drama
TBS announced on March 29 that it will be producing a special drama based on the life of poet Misuzu Kaneko in which actress Aya Ueto (26) will portray the late poet.
Born in 1903, Kaneko, who experienced a resurgence of fame in the aftermath of the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami through the use of her poem "Kodama Desho" in an AC Japan PSA, began writing poetry at a young age and published 512 poems before passing away at the age of 26 in 1930.
Commenting on the public's fascination with Kaneko's poetry, Ueto stated, "Her (Kaneko) verses were heard on television often after the disaster." "She was a very gentle and ladylike soul who you could tell had witnessed the sadness of life", she continued. Ueto added that she wants to make the role, which will call on her to deal with the subjects of death, illness, unemployment and other hardships, her best work yet by saying, "I will do my best to not have any regrets."
The drama will be produced by "Wataru Seken wa Oni Bakari" producer Fukuko Ishii, who also produced the 2001 Misuzu Kaneko biopic starring Takako Matsu. "There are still stories to be told. I want to step into that world one more time. I had my heart set on Ueto for the role and we waited until her schedule opened up to get the ball rolling" explained Ishii.
Cast in the role of Kaneko's brother Masasuke Ueyama is one-half of the Tackey & Tsubasa duo, Tsubasa Imai (30). "I'm thrilled to be a part of this wonderful project. I will do my best and I hope that this role will help me grow as an actor" commented Imai. This is the first time Ueto and Imai will be starring opposite each other. Upon hearing that it takes Ueto a week to learn her lines, Imai brought some laughter to the press conference by confessing he needs "at least a month".
Other cast members include Teruhiko Saigo, Reiko Takashima, Tomoko Naraoka, Taro Suruga, Aki Nishihara, Pinko Izumi, Yuki Matsumura, Miyu Kobayashi, Miho Ohwada, Sadahito Niwa and Nobuto Okamoto.
I never saw Imai Tsubasa in drama. But because he has his own theatrical play I hope he become good co-star.[/quote]
