I'm a person who enjoy drama like Kabachitare, Hero, Jikembo of young kindaichi.
Do u think Never Land is the right drama for me to buy?

hi Yuki...
ermm...i hope this reply is not too late..i think Neverland is quite dark and gothic..almost like 'cheap love'. but it ends in whimper not bang.. i must say it's strictly to Johnny Jr's fans..like me!(i'm hopelessly hooked on Toma and Hina, if u know what i mean..) |

| It seems to me that you really enjoy watching mystery dramas, so I don't really recommend watching "Neverland" because it is more of a drama about friends helping each other out. If you like mystery dramas, then I will recommend you to watch "Rookie" by Koichi Domoto (KinKi Kids) and Uchiyama Rina. |

hi Yuki..
emm..Neverland is about 4 boys in a borading school who dont wanna return to their home during school holidays becoz they've their own dark secrets..
Tsubasa hates his father becoz he once had an affair with a lady, whom later kidnapped him9when he was a kid)and tried to strangle him..the effect is that he cant be close to women or he'll remember the incident..
Miyake Ken(of V6) doesnt wanna go home coz he's been used as a sexual object 4 his stepmother*gulp* who wanted to seek revenge becoz his father suicided with his mother..
Tanaka Koki is a boy who loves to take pics, esp of Tsubasa. its because he has this heart disease and thus he cant perform as well as his big bro who was the school's all rounders. the cam is like his 'escapism' too..
Murakami Shingo is torn between choosing his mom or dad coz theyve divorced. he doesnt wanna go home and make the decision..
Ikuta Toma has this guilt over having watched her mom commited suicide infront of him and kinda think she did it becoz of him being so naughty..he then kept seeing her in the bathroom..
so the story is about how they live together during the school holidays and how they resolve the probs..btw, Ikuta isnt staying at the dorms, he's staying outside but coz 'his mother' appears often, he's scared to live at home..
i think that's about it Yuki-san..i cannot say-lah the dorama good or not, but only the ending..err..not good-lah..so ordinary-aiyah! |

No problem! I am a Johnny's fan, which is why I purchased "Neverland". =P The story plot is not really that great, but some parts are okay. The story is mostly about how 5 boys stayed at their high school dorms while other people left for home because they each have their problems at home which they don't want to face. I talks about how these 5 boys got to be great friends while helping each other.
The main characters for this drama are:
Miyake Ken (V6)
Imai Tsubasa (Johnny's Jr./Tackey &Tsubasa)
Ikuta Toma (Johnny's Jr./Four Tops)
Tanaka Koki (KATTUN)
Murakami Shingo(Johnny's Jr.)

I though Neverland was a lovely coming of age story starting a bit complex but finishing on a definite positive note with the boys achieving personal growth beyond their dark pasts. I really enjoyed it. The ending too.

It's a very dark drama indeed. I wonder if this is what boys do in dorms...hmm.
Anyways, I enjoyed the drama because it goes indepth with character analysis. It's interesting to see the boys having different point of views and interepretation in their discussions. For some reason, this one kinda reminds me of "HOme Drama" where the characters just sit and talk. Lots of discussions ... that type of drama.
fyi: I too think the ending was a little weak. |
