I can't study, its very difficult for me to. Plus I definitely need to study because I'm taking chemistry, biology, and calculus. I'm to occupied and lazy to study, I would be watching movies/dramas or going out. Any advice?

Well I study while listening to music so I don't get as bored and if I forget something I think back to the song I was listening to and then I can recall the stuff. Like if I need to recall something and I studied it during the chorus I just think back and it works for me. I still don't like to study that much though. I guess its either you know it or you don't.

I just go to outside so I only have one task to do! Also Music does help lighten up your day. Just stay away from your room or go outside and study!

why don't you let your parents/friends keep you away from your dramas and tell yourself that watching these dramas will be your reward fro finishing a chapter or finishing one subject. Or why don't you for example imagine a bum you saw on the streets and tell yourself that's what your gonna be when you don't finish college your gonna be like that or that your gonna have a small paying job and be ashamed to go to your high school reunion. well my motivation for studying is my ambitions...like for examle i want to go around the world *cough cough* japan *cough* korea *cough * taiwan *cough* *cough* to meet all my asian crushes * cough* cough*

Well, if you have absolutely no motivation or desire to study, there's not much you can do.

Haha. I had this problem.

Like bmwracer said, the most important factor is motivation. Otherwise, it's completely hopeless. You MUST have something that motivates you, and think about that.

You should also discipline yourself. Come up with a daily schedule, and set aside blocks of time for studying. Make sure you put in times for goofing around, too.

Remember: no pain, no gain.

Maybe you just don't like what you study at the moment.

Right on the spot man! No point of doing it if you don't have one.

I agree with that, I usually get an A or B in my courses, but last semester I got a C in chemistry, but almost everyone recieved a C. Now this semester, different chemistry course, same professor, I want to show him that I can ace his class!

Thats my motivation as well, I guess I'm just lazy. I'll just pay more attention in lecture, because studying is not for me.

Thanks for the advice everyone

just do what i do... and wait till the last moment to do ALL ur work... like the night b4 ur big project is do, staying up till 4or 5 am is necessary to finish.... then u can nap in class and wait till its ur turn to turn in ur work.. rinse latter.. repeat! Bleah *looks at my grades for last semester.....>.<* wait maybe you SHOULDN'T LISTEN TO ME AND JUST SIT DOWN AND STUDY! ..... best advice i could give u is when ur trying to study and u feel the urge to do something else or start getting lazy BITE UR ARM!... that just snaps u right back into what u have to do till u finish ... it works hehe

Thought I'd start a mirror thread to the Talk Crap About Work thread Smile

First thing - these 100 series university courses really feel too much like high school (econ is what i'm thinking of right now although i'm sure it applies elsewhere too) Mr Green

glad i got fewer projects to work on than last term but seems like there's more assignments Doh!

@Doc & Krim: Glad you guys done with school? hehe

Me....I hate my Statistics class. Don't like how teacher teaching it, plus I have to go online to learn the section. I ended up dropping the class today. Now I'll have to retake it during summer bleh Along with Econ and some rather easy class that counts as non-lab science class.

3 classes over summer school is definately something that will make half my summer pretty crappy

Ah yes... school. Well the semester's almost over, but I'm taking summer classes because I wanna get my ass outta community college ASAP. I'm hoping to transfer to UCLA or something.
