but is it going to be the same??? 5 boys coming together, overcoming all odds, and finally after getting recognisation, boys from other clubs will come and join them and together, during the high sch festival, they will put up a performance... right???

haha.. out of these peolple you mentioned the leading 5 guys i prolly only know 3.. the girls even worse.. only ishihara satomi and suzuki emi.. sigh.. wonder whether it will be a good sequel.. thought the previous batch of yamada, moriyama, eita, ishigaki etc. did great..

I would be surprised if it weren't a main five guy format, after all they lay out the cast credits that way.
And for Waterboys, most of the cast was debuting or very new aswell; so we'll see ^^ And Ishihara Hayato was pretty good in All About Lily Chou-Chou.
Also Duran Duran and Bananarama are billed to be on the soundtrack, with original soundtrack music to be done by Naoki Sato (Good Luck!!, Waterboys).

Wasn't Kaneko Takatoshi in the original Waterboys movie?

Yes he was :) As far as I know, he becomes a teacher at Himeno High School... we'll have to wait until the first episode airs in three weeks.

News just in: Masaharu Fukuyama is doing the theme for Waterboys 2 aswell! ^^ I was hoping for that.
Called Niji - Mou Hitotsu no Natsu (After One Summer/One Summer Later?), the disc have the theme and five versions of Niji.

I Really enjoyed Water Boys Movie and the First TV Series. I Will be waiting to see what this second series can offer.

I really liked Waterboys 1 and was looking forward to Waterboys 2, but damn, I hate the cast list to death ^^;

And Ichihara as main protagonist. Don't know why but I really dislike him. Maaaaan.

Give the first episode a chance before making judgement, they'll grow on you :D

Sure I'm going to watch the first episode, but if I don't like most of the cast, I probably won't enjoy the drama. >_<
