Peekvid is not a download site, it's an online viewing site like Youtube.

But animeground is Smile Thanks.

*Edit* List updated - also added Veoh, which you can download from.

Thank you,
Jelenity~

In all honesty: The paid services are the best. Usually the fastest speeds, resumable etc. and they are usually FTP sites. Rapidshare etc has problems with downloads stopping half-way through, links expiring, bandwidth exceeded etc.

The less said about BT the better Bleah

Sorry, you'll have to find out yourself. Some sites use different hosts for different dramas. It's too much work to go through each one individually.

http://community.livejournal.com/jdramas/

Not sure if this has been mentioned before. This community is great, lots and lots of jdramas for download, mostly from MegaUpload.
You need to have an account at livejournal then join the community in order to see the download links. Use the tags to find what you want.

Hello WhimsicalOrangeRoad, I don't know what you're after, but here is a list of English-subtitled dvds on Yesasia.

http://global.yesasia.com/en/prdGrpDept.aspx/section-videos/code-j/version-all/p-1/pid-1003738898/

It seems to be films, but there may be dramas amongst them. Big Grin
Hope this helps somewhat.

You'll be hard pressed to find any dramas that are subbed in English from Yesasia: I don't think any of the TV studios put any effort into this area.

On the other hand, a lot of movies seem to be English subbed, mainly because they'll be entered in film festivals and the like around the world. Smile

One caveat: most (all?) those DVDs will be Region 2 and not playable on some DVD players which aren't hacked....

Not if you buy a Philips DVD player: they're all hackable via the remote. Smile

Regarding dvd regions - Japan is region 2, right? Europe is as well.
BUT - is Japan NTSC? We have PAL here.

I don't understand how regions and ntsc/pal differ... Sweat
