I was a lil bit afraid of seeing Aki face when she was sick.. Mr Green Mr Green sooooo pale and bald...
I didn't know why Sakutaro can still love her for 17 years....

I've read somewhere that both Aki(s) (Sawajiri Erika in the drama and Nagasawa Masami in the movie) shaved their heads for the role.

Welcome to the forum. I'm not sure the song is the one you are asking for (I haven't watched this drama) but here is the 'official' theme song and OST.

Sekai no Chuushin de, Ai wo Sakebu (Drama) OST
http://www.sendspace.com/file/wlsm6a

Sekai no Chuushin de (Drama) - Katachi Aru Mono
http://www.sendspace.com/file/zpraro

In future please address requests for OSTs and theme songs in this thread:

http://jdorama.com/viewtopic.3078.htm

The above links has been posted in the said thread before. If you had done a search you would have been able to find it a bit sooner.

While I'm sure it was a great love story, I've grown cynical over the years and have failed to tune into Sakutaro's frame of mind. I have watched the movie and it was quite touching, but again I'm not overly impressed with Sakutaro (the character, not the actor).

On the other hand I have been fairly disgusted by Yamada Takayuki after news came out a few months ago that he ditched his then pregnant girlfriend, leaving the girl high and dry. Since then I've actively avoided dramas with Yamada in the cast, especially if he is the leading actor.

I'm prejudiced, I know.

so this article i read back in feb. is out of date information?

Takayuki Yamada's out-of-wedlock baby

Boy, I wanted to write this one, but Ryuganji already made a great translation of the article. It was revealed that "Train Man" otaku hero Takayuki Yamada had fathered a son last October. He and his ex-girlfriend decided not to get married, and Yamada is giving a full support to the mother and child.

Out-of-wedlock babies are still rare in Japan in general, and personally, I would like to praise the courage of both parents to make such an untraditional decision. Among recent out-of-wedlock scandals, Kabuki actor Ebizo Ichikawa's secret daughter was revealed in 2003, and another Kabuki actor Somegoro Ichikawa also fathered a child when he was 18. All of these actors are doing great jobs in acting world - Yamada in "Train Man", Somegoro Ichikawa in "Semishigure" and Ebizo Ichikawa will be in his first movie "Deguchi no Nai Umi" (literally Sea with no Exit, written by Yoji Yamada), so I hope these scandals do not bring them down.

hmm.. cynical eh? Well, to tell you the truth i am a fellow cynic too.. though deep down, the hopeless romantic in me just overthrew logic while watching this drama..
hmmm, i can't stand taiwan lovestory drama type of movies.. it's become too much of a cliche now.. but Sekai.. was just.. exceptional..
Heh, the hopeless romantic in me is prejudiced too, i know.

This was such a good drama. It kind of was naive, but still so touching. I have never cried so much over tv-drama. It must have been non-stop from 8->.

Most touching part of this drama was the survival story of the grown man and realization of how people will forget even if they wouldn't want to and choose life after all.

I just finished watching ichi ritoru no namida, but didn't cry at all... A bit strange....

OMG what a tear-jerker this was. I think the producers must have been in bed with the corporate Kleenex industry or something. Good music adds to its overall appeal. Great jdorama by any measurement.

I am so surprised by the number of people who criticised Sekachuu so harshly recently in this thread.

This is my #1 drama and I think it can be #1 for those who found complaints with it if they only allow themselves to feel Saku's pain. Then again, I guess it's hard to relate (or empathize) with another's pain if you have never experienced such yourself.

I can relate to finding myself stuck in a moment of time long since passed because the situation did not get resolved or get resolved correctly. There's always the "what if...?" of "why?" queston in your mind if you ever experiened it. It's just hard to move on and a bit of you is stuck in that moment even while the rest of the universe has moved on. Although, my own situation does not consume my whole being like Saku's does his, I can certainly see how such a thing can happen and that's why it was easy for me to cry when watching this drama. I can relate to it. I guess that's all we really need is to bridge that gap between ourselves and the story.

If you never had pain in your heart or are unable to love or unable to know when another loves you or never felt the pain when it all was lost, then Sekachuu isn't the drama for you.

Quite frankly I'm a little upset by your statement. Whatever your views on this drama I'm fine with it, but you are making it sound like those who don't appreciate this drama in the same way you do are "...unable to love."

Everyone can express their views freely in this forum, but this freedom assumes that members are also mature enough to 'agree to disagree'. Making a personal criticism on those who do not share your view is hardly mature, and I dare say not welcomed.

I guess booniez said a little too much, but I kind of see his/her point...
I have never been a Yamada Takayuki and still not, but I have to admit he was REALLY good in this series. I can totally believe that someone in that situation wouldn't allow himself to forget about the loved one, or maybe even deny she died.

Anyway, I watched this dorama very recently, and it's also my #1 dorama. I have no doubt though, it wouldn't have been so touching to me if I was 5 or 6 years younger, because I don't think it would relate to me that much unless I've experienced lost love.

There were couple of things I didn't like the dorama series compared to the movie.
Click on button to reveal/hide spoiler:

I totally ruined the movie by watching the dorama first, but I don't regret it because watching movie first always makes the dorama too dragging to watch. Movie wasn't as touching, but I thought it was a better story, better acting and well told. Just very weak soundtrack/theme song compared to the dorama, and it doesn't show how they fell deeply in love.

is there a better dorama out there than Sekai no chuushin? I liked it better than 1 Liter of Tears, Beautiful Life, and just about every other dorama that I've seen.
