I've already heard that song in English ... I can hardly understand what Shingo sings . But I can't blame him ... At least, he tries !! Seems that Takuya says " come on " a million times at concerts ( his favorite English word ??? hehe ) .
as for letters sent to Smap , I know that letters in English ( and sent from abroad ) are thrown away , and I'm quite sure that even letters in Japanese are not given to the boys . sad but true Puppy Dog Eyes

then why you ask if you can write to that address you type? someone nice response to your question. how comes you answer like that?

in episode of SMAPxSMAP in 2004 with Cameron Diaz.

Goro - speak no English at all. nothing. he did not even try to say any English.

Tsuyoshi - say "Look me." "Please catch."

Nakai - say "I don't speak any English."

Kimura - say "Me too." "Fantastic."

Shingo - say "My name is Shingo. I'm glad to meet you. I think your work is great. I'm not gay. But the truth is, I am much bigger fan of Justin Timberlake. But I'm not gay. Welcome to Japan."

I'm sure that the smap boys can speak some English but they just don't dare to speak any english because they think their pronunciation is not good . I've once heard Takuya and his pronunciation was pretty good ! Applaud

IMO, I have always believed the members of SMAP know English. But I remember one time they were trying to sing songs that were performed by the great rock and roll legend Elvis Presley and I was like OMG!!!!!!!! Had to rely on the English lyrics that were on the bottom of the screen to understand what they were singing. (Please, no offence, because I am a really huge fan of SMAP.) but I could not believe it. But I still enjoyed their performances because they worked really hard. But they just need some practice.

Of the short snatches of English I've heard from Actors and Actresses on Dramas, the best pronunciation I've ever heard came from Kimura Yoshino.

It might just be that she had a great dialect coach. But if I had to bet, I'd say she was comfortable speaking English.

As a guess, Yamaguchi Tomoko is probably pretty good, since she's spent so much time in Hawaii over the last few years.

Takashima Masanobu, has also impressed me a few times with his command of the language.

Yep! And then threw the banana out to the crowd. Boy did I wish I sat in the first 10 rows.

It was funny when Hyde asked, "Do you like crabs?" because at first it sounded more like, "Do you like crap?" The audience didn't know how to react at first. Big Grin

I think Shingo Katori is better in writing English & all his vocabs, grammar etc... But when it comes to pronunciation, he may nt be as good as Takuya~ Overall, he's actually quite good in English (He can write a full song in English!!)
