Here's the UTB link, they got the month wrong:http://utbhollywood.com/en/drama/mobile_ai/index.php

Finally something to look forward to on 18.2
Now if they would only start broadcasting in 16:9 format.

Sent them an email about this. don't expect any reply. Here's a copy:

Dear 18.2 persons.

Do you think you will ever begin to broadcast in 16:9 format like the rest of the world?

Isn't it time for you to wear the big boy pants?

Every new TV sold now is wide screen in case you missed that fact. Even holdouts
with the archaic 4:3 screens can watch 16:9 programs with black top and bottom bars.

Hoping your wonderful programs will join the rest of the world SOON, before the
Kohakou uta Gassen so we can see that program the way all of Asia sees it.

Thank you,

Ralph Moratz

^ I think the "big boy pants" remark was rather rude, huh?

Hard to get people to change if you're going to insult them while making the request. Sweat

I sent an email a while back about the HD as well, but I was a little more diplomatic.

Gotta set up the recorder... Though D-Addicts will probably have it available for download eventually. Smile

Regarding why 18.2 is not in HD:

Thank you for your email and interest in UTB18.2!

At this time, the bandwidth we have is not sufficient to broadcast HD. We hope in the future, it will be possible to run HD.

Thank you for your inquiry and continuing to watch UTB18.2.

Hitomi ended yesterday. Looks like they've pulled the plug on asadoras. Puppy Dog Eyes

Granted, it wasn't the best asadora ever, but it was nice to start the day with a little mindless entertainment.

Saw a promo today for the Nao Matsushita drama Good Job, will be starting on 2/5 running thru 2/19, so it looks like Gou will probably start on 2/26.

I'm guessing KIKU-TV Hawaii will be hardsubbing the series like they have for previous Taiga series...

Unfortunately, since 18.2 apparently doesn't have the bandwidth, the broadcast will like be in SD, not HD. Sad

Hmm, this is interesting: I just noticed that 18.2 is showing silent Japanese films (with subtitles) at midnight: http://utbhollywood.com/en/movie/silent/1/index.php

From the UTB Hollywood web site:

Due to recent earthquake in Japan, we will continue broadcasting NHK World News throughout the weekend except Saturday & Sunday dramas 9-10pm.

Just turned on 18.2, they're showing Ultraman so I guess things are back to normal broadcastwise.

Yup, I meant 5/1. Doh! I think Sensei is rubbing off on me. (I mean that in a nice way.)

I thought it looks more like "Kuitan becomes a dancer."

The fact she's rubbing you is a good thing. Mr Green

Dunno if anybody has been watching 99 Nen no Ai: http://www.jdorama.com/drama.1619.htm on 18.2. They chopped it up pretty good and turned what was a 5 episode drama (although each episode was 90 minutes in Japan) and turned it into an 11 episode drama.

Anyway, at some point they started running this disclaimer at the start of each episode: "Because this was originally broadcast in Japan, the dialogue is primarily Japanese. Also some events are historically incorrect."

I'm guessing they got a lot of calls/emails along the lines of "What is this crap? I was in Manzanar (or I was in the 442nd). It wasn't anything like this!!" hehe

Yeah, I noticed that disclaimer as well in the last couple of episodes.

They allocated 90 minutes for these broadcasts and it's chock full of commercials... And the last 15-20 minutes is typically unrelated fluff. Sad
