it would be nice to have the Spurs win it all, it really depends on how they match up together. Obviously, I would think the spurs have the advantage in the paint, but also Tony Parker and Ginobli could bring problems to Miami's other guards, besides their superstar LeBron and a deminished Wade. I still would like to see Duncan get his 5th title, over Lebron. But I do think Miami is probably favored to win it all this year over Spurs.

Spurs blew a lead in the 4th and couldn't make a crucial FT, so they lose in OT to the Heat, 103-100. Sad

Now it all rides on Game 7 on Thursday. Fingers crossed

Lakers surprisingly rout the highly-touted Clippers, 116-10, thanks to 14 three-pointers. rofl

I remember the 71-72 Lakers. A great team with a great coach. Three Hall of Famers in the starting line-up (Chamberlain, West, Goodrich) with a bunch of role players; a thoroughly selfless team. It was a completely different era then--coaches ruled, players did as they were told, and team above self was the norm. Ironically Elgin Baylor (yeah, that team had at the beginning of the season four HOF players in the starting line-up) retired nine games into the season, at which point the Lakers proceeded to run off 33 straight wins which is still a record.

I remember that season well... The 33-game winning streak, their blowout of the Warriors by the score of 162-99, their streak ending in Milwaukee (with Kareem throwing a punch at Happy Hairston), and their long-awaited championship... What a season. Applaud Applaud Applaud

And completing the sports trifecta, Jerry West at 75, can't even miss when he tries to: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=buYB75cMehY

The sound is not too good, you might want to turn it up.

NBA playoffs started yesterday. The Clippers, keeping with their tradition of being able to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory lost to the Warriors 109-105 thereby losing home court advantage. Shake Head
