Yes it was all tasty. Sanuki no Sato is probably the best udon restaurant in the Greater Los Angeles area...they actually make their noodles from scratch as it should be.
When you walk in to the restaurant they have a wall full of pictures of famous Japanese persons who've eaten there. Ken Watanabe and Kenji Sakaguchi among them.

You should man. Their menu is HUGE...overwhelming I daresay. I think you'll enjoy it...sometimes if you're in the mood for noodles but don't want the richness of a tonkotsu broth, let's say, you can opt for their udon.
The noodles are really delicious. Slightly chewy with a nice bite to them.

No, sir. That was a pic from the Osaka action I mentioned, where it's called mamushi not unaju.
More pics from the restaurant I went to in Osaka (not taken by me). The restaurant is called KUROMON KAWAHIRO.

That is what I thought...but in each lacquer bowl under that superficial layer of eel and rice is ANOTHER layer of eel and rice buried beyond visual range.
So it's actually quite a bit of food. It's expensive though, man. But heck you don't eat that stuff everyday.
While we were eating lunch there were a few of salaryman eating there really quick...seemed like the boss picked up the tab for his employees. Nice perk!

Now that's the kind of double-double I like.

Double-double...you're definitely from L.A.
Since I like goofin' off and taking pictures, mostly of food, as an amateur I am thinking of getting an SLR camera one of these days. Then the pictures would be so crisp...it would definitely be torture.

Most of the new DSLRs also have HD-movie capability as well.

I'm tempting myself as well...
But unless I get outta Dodge and visit some places, it's pointless to dole out the bucks for a DSLR...
You, on the other hand, could make full use of it.
