Word on the .ass subs. I used them for Change and then changed them to .srt when I put it on DVD. The theme song karaoke at the end was all screwed up so I just deleted it. I guess it wasn't really necessary anyway since the song was in English.

That made absolutely no sense to have subs/captioning for the song, so I deleted immediately too. What a waste of effort that was to whoever did it.

Oh, I finally looked at the Suika subs! I don't think they look too big. They look a lot like the NGN subs, really. But I prefer white.

Yay, glad to know that it isn't too big, but I think that NGN subs are more skinnier. I think the font that I use is more like the KIKU ones. And the reason why I use yellow is because white fonts are hard to read when there's a white background. I've encountered that problem before and it gets annoying.

Hmm, maybe it's the KIKU subs it looks like then. Are they both yellow? I can't remember.

Yup... Yellow with a black outline is the best.


EDIT: Started my hardsub, but noticed that all the subs for Gonzo have a bunch of crapass font tags infesting them...

I think yellow is ugly, so there!!

^ Turns out those font tags are necessary, since the timing of the subs shows a lot of overlap and whatnot.

Hardsubbing Gonzo, Episode 8.

Aside from the cutesy font tags, the subs are quite clean and have very few errors and very little extraneous, distracting info... Probably one of the best fansub jobs I've seen.

Hardsubbing done... Encoding Gonzo now.

Encoding done for Gonzo... Time to author the DVDs.

Authoring done for Gonzo... Just need to burn some discs and I'm done.

Next project.

Hardsub for Koori no Hana done... Time to encode.

Encoding for Koori no Hana completed overnight... Need to author and I'm done.

I had fun the other day authoring a movie. It was in 2 parts, and the subs were 2 parts but the 2nd part subs didn't match the 2nd part of the movie - and to make matters worse, the movie files were MKV.

I ended up authoring the movie to DVD, ripping the 2 vob files from that DVD, and using vobmerge to make 1 big vob file. Then used subtitle workshop to join the 2 sub files into one, re-burn the vob to DVD with the sub file in ConvertX and viola! it worked

Wow, that sounds like a lot of work. Is this seriously the only way of getting movies that are broken up into 2 parts into 1 single part? Or did you do this whole process only because of the subs not matching with the pic?
