Tokusatsu and anime-to-tokusatsu do not belong in the drama database. The term tokusatsu is defined as a live action program that features super hero-like themes. If Superman and Spiderman were Japanese shows, they too would be considered tokusatsu. Sailor Moon Live is a tokusatsu program. Also, shows like the Maked Rider series, Kikaider, and Power Ranger-like programs do not fit the defnition of a Japanese drama.

Do Juliana and I need to actually define what a Japanese drama is? I always took for granted everyone knew. If one is needed, I'll have the moderators and Genma write one up.

Moderators - Please check the Moderators forum for a new topic on creating JDorama.com's definition of a Japanese drama.

The rest of the members - Once we finalize the details, I'll post it as a stickie in the Discussions on Japanese Dramas forum.

whoa cHILL man, i wasnt pushing the subject. i was just asking cuz Gokusen and GTO is on here, and both live actions were based in an anime & manga, and i was a lil curious cuz the reason why i watch SM cuz of their romance mixture in it but its no big deal if sentai shows arent allowed, i understand. im not a fan of power rangers myself

maybe its needed to have a guideline then, in case someone ask again, though i doubt newbies will ever read it. =T

idk why u had to lock your definition thread but oh well ill say it here then..

the reason why i brought it up its bec. i have this book last time i check there were A LOT of sentais or tokusatsu and anime-to-tokusatsu written in there that were considered as dramas. are you saying the authors were wrong? but i understand that youre making this strictly for the adults not the kiddy-stuff right? and i understand about not adding the movies part too.

i apologize that im one of those people who werent paying attention what you stated before regarding the differences between jdramas and live actions & movies, but i know you've mentioned it before and everyone took that for granted.
i know you have more knowledge bout dramas, but u dont have to act like youre the man and remind us like we're stupid or something (not saying that u did) or we dont understand but yeh like i said i asked bec. of that book and i had 2nd thoughts about it

anyway im not pushing the issues why it should be on the database, i could careless about it, but just like to let u know my concerns, and no i dont wanna start any "drama" <./lame-joke>

The definition has been removed. You guys can post ANYTHING you want, and let Juliana filter them. Sentai, tokusatsu, TV shows, movies, PMs, CMs, whatever you want. The database should be re-named the "Japanese Entertainment" database. I'm serious! That's where people want this site to head. Adios amigos!

I know what the English translation is. It is Spanish. My question is if groink means that literally.

Synopsis: The wife Mitsuru (actress: Hiromi Nagasaku) and the husband Takuya (actor: Masato Sakai) is a three-year married couple who enjoyed a rather gfriendlyh relationship. Although Mitsuru is always busier than Takuya, both of them had no complaints. But ever since they met another couple, Shinichiro (Jinpachi Nezu) and Shizuka (Yumiko Shaku), their relationship rapidly became unstable. This is because Shinichiro asked Takuya to date with his wife Shizuka from time to time, which of course Takuya refused at first. However, his wife Mitsuru agreed as she considered this proposal will not cause any negative effect on their relationship as long as they were just having a casual date. This drama will lay out an eternal theme between a married couple, gIs it hard to maintain passion and affection toward your wife/husband after marriage?h
