I like Kimura Takuya's character in this series! =D It's adorable to see him warm up to the kids.

Anyway, is his sister running an orphanage? Or are the parents just dropping their kids off for them to take care of? ]

Other than that KT and Koyuki are so cute together! =D It's funny how they don't like each other at the moment.

First episode was ok, but I am hoping that the show will not focus too much on the kids. I am afraid that it will beome a sappy family drama if too much showtime is given to the kids and I am no fan of family dramas.

KT and Koyuki don't look good together (well, at least in the first episode). I hope we'll see some chemistry between them soon.

Highlight to see better.

- KT's character Jiroh Kanzaki doesn't actually like children. He spends the first 30 minutes of it saying, "Man, this is why I hate kids," and makes faces while listening to the kids introduce themselves. Though, I guess not treating them 'like kids' makes him seem cool to them.

- The sister doesn't run the orphanage, per say. I think it's actually Mr. Kanzaki--the father--who is in charge and after she divorced her husband, she came to live there and helped out. Some of the children's parents "threw them away," as one boy says. Other kids' parents have died.

- Jiroh and Koyuki's character don't hate each other...I think at least from Jiroh's point of view...but he made a reference to her butt being like that of the girl's in the car races, and now she thinks he's a cheeky, rude guy.

I find that Tomomi(Koyuki) only finds Jiro rude too. I was actually laughing like crazy when he made that comment abt her during mealtime with the kids. What's funnier is that the younger boys did the same action as Jiro(to block her face from afar with their hands)... When Jiro offered her something to eat(I think it's a frozen drink or popsicle?), she didn't seem to show much displeasure at Jiro too.

and wan wan, this drama is actually a home (or human drama as what japan labels it) so I guess it mainly focuses on the children in the home instead of the racing tracks...

according to news, the first episode of engine garnered an average 25.3% rating... though not the best for kimutaku but nevertheless the best for this season...

SO GLAD I WAS FINALLY ABLE TO WATCH ENGINE! (even though i had no idea what they were saying... ) I can't wait till d-addicts posts up epi2 this week. Isn't there any VOD for watching it on-line?

Thank you so much for posting the link! I was amazed that they already have the first episode subbed ...after all...the first episode just aired in Japan, right?
Really liked the first episode, totally cracked me up in certain parts, although KimuTaku's character is pretty much the same as he was in Pride and Good Luck! Wish they would give him some other traits than hot-headed but with a good heart Nonetheless, that didn't prevent me from liking the first episode...Hope the entire series is just as good!

I think my favorite part is when the high school guy pinned the fifth-grader (who's new to the place) on the floor and KimuTaku comes running in asking the fifth-grader if the answer to his riddle is 1000 Yen bill Also, as someone else mentioned...the part where the kids act like KimuTaku and block the top half of Koyuki's body with their hand and stares at her butt

No problem at all. I couldn't understand the series without subs. Which is why I ought to learn japanese.

Actually to find the series that you want, juz goto the BT website. In this case is http://bbs.btpig.com/search.php and type the name of the series. If you have XP installed, install the Asian Languages pack for typing Chinese characters. For example, this series type ���� in the search box and there you have it!

A point to note is that the files uploaded there are usually in lower quality real media format and in chinese subs. As far as I know, currently only the first episode is released.
