By the way, woke up with an earthquake this morning. Damn scary as the whole building was swaying (as it's supposed to I guess).

Back home in Amsterdam now. Still a bit jetlaggy, but started working again...
Anyway, here's some more pics of my stay in Japan:
Hakodate was a bit anticlimactic after the extreme beauty of the sakura of Hirosaki. The blossoms had just opened here and the location just wasn't as beautiful. It was still pretty good though.

I really liked the city. It had a very relaxed feel to it. Hakodates history is also very interesting for westerners. It had been opened for trade under the pressure of the Americans and it's full of western influences...
With brick warehouses,
Churches,
and a western type fort (which is now used as the o hanami spot)
Btw WhiteHawk, I liked your photo's of Asakusa especially, as that was the place where I stayed in Tokyo : )

I often recommend Asakusa as a "first place to see". With the temple, the shopping streets, the diners, and the abundance of hotels, it's tough to beat.
Hopefully I'll be done re-sizing (helps with uploading to Google+) my Kyoto photos next week and have them up. _________________

It looks like I'll be going back in October. I was already planning to go that month anyway, and then a local friend announced on Facebook that she's going for her first time then. So she asked me to be her tour guide. _________________
Kawaii! I saw photos of the bunnies and read about island a few weeks ago. So cute. I have a bunny at home too. She's a Netherland Dwarf with thin white ring about her eyes. Thanks for sharing. Photos and weather look great!

Then Okunoshima is a must for you!
I've usually had at least one bunny in the house, but my last one passed a couple of years ago, just days before a trip to Japan. I've been so busy, working multiple jobs and such, that I haven't had another bunny since. As much as I miss having them around, I know I don't have to time to take care of one properly. So I get my fix with my annual visits to Ra.a.g.f (Rabbit and Grow Fat) in Harajuku. _________________
