Hello All,

I am fairly new to this board and I have been watching the NHK TV series called " Sakura." It is now being shown on TV in NYC. Yukiyoshi Ozawa plays a teacher by the name of Katsuragi sensei in this show. This was my first time seeing him perform. Ozawa san's performance in this series is subtle and convincing. Some of you may not like the show "Sakura" but you have to admit Katsuragi sensei is someone you would like to get to know better. Much better!

So if there are any other Yukiyoshi Ozawa fans out there please feel free to come join in here. I haven't seen any of his films or other series that he has been in, so perhaps you could share with us which ones are your favorites and why.

Thanks dochira for you suggestion to start this thread.

To all my fellow 'Cheesy Romantic Club' members over at japan-guide.com you are invited to come play here as well.

To all my fellow Jdorama.com Ozawa fans you can check out the Ozawa lovers over at japan-guide.com in this thread that I linked. I am Aya in that thread.

Attn: Ozawa Yukiyoshi

This address was provided thanks to research done by dochira and my dear friend Jun.

Hi Susie!
You are welcome. If it hadn't been for your "Sakura" thread I would not have learned so much about Yukiyoshi to begin with. Thanks! Smile I have started composing his letter in my mind a little at a time. I am sure all of our letters will put a smile on his face. What a nice smile he has!!!!

To quote Blanche from " A Streetcar Named Desire" .." I have always relied upon the kindness of strangers."

Why thank you kind Sir! Thanks dochira for your suggestion and inspiration for this thread. Yeah I may not be too perceptive when it comes to figuring out the gender of my fellow board members but I do try to keep my promises. Smile

Hi All,
As I stated before I have not seen the "Yoshitsune" series but my friend Jun informed me that Ozawa Yukiyoshi plays the part of Yoshitsune's cousin Yoshinaka in this well known hero series. Has he appeared yet in the series. I assume "Yoshitsune" is currently being shown? Or did I get that info. wrong. I have been known to do that on this board. LOL! Shake Head

Would anyone like to tell us how they feel about Yukiyoshi's performance in "Yoshitsune?"

Yoshinaka? Hmm, it's still early in the drama series (ep 7 of 49) so I'm sure he'll enter a little later. Anyways the main character (Takizawa) has not yet developed into the role he will assume as the drama progresses.

Thanks dochira. I didn't know how early on in the series you were. Keep me posted when he finally appears.

Ohhh dochira...Be still my heart!!!! He looks like Katsuragi sensei with a hat. LOL! My knees buckled a little when I first saw the photo but I threw some cold water on my face and I'm fine now. Hey dochira give a gal a warning next time to give me time to prepare myself. LOL! Thanks for that photo!!! Big Grin

PS dochira...a little birdy told me that your name means "who are you?" or "anybody."

LOL. I had a feeling you would like that pic. I don't know if you have broadband internet access, but you should look at d-addicts.com. The episodes of Yoshitsune that have aired in the Bay Area are available there, and I am part of a team that is bringing the high quality version to that same site. If you are on dial-up, there's always good old snail mail.

I used the translation "which" for dochira, as in a choice to make. When I was learning Japanese, a common phrase we were taught was "Dochira no hou ga....ii desu ka?" which means "Which of the follow...is better?" The "dochira" stuck to me.

Thanks for that info dochira. I am not all that computer literate. I will get back to you to let you know if I can see it or not.

Oohhh My little Birdy did not tell me about the "which " choice. I like your name dochira...it has a nice ring to it. Plus my little Birdy finds you to be very funny!

O.K. dochira I went to d-addicts.com. I saved a episode O1A. With English subtitles. I tried to open the folder but...what do I need to open it. Can I run it in Windows Media Player? I know this might seem like a stupid question to you.

While we are waiting for others to join us we might as well talk about how I can see the torrent over at d-addicts.com of "Yoshitsune."

Okay. I think you need a primer on Bittorrent. Start here: http://www.d-addicts.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=544

If you have further questions, PM me.

Bonk WOW! What a good lookin guy! That's a cool picture, too. I love period costumes. The facial hair threw me for a sec, but then my jaw fell open as I recognized those eyes...*sigh*

Well Enna, it looks like you've got a nice thread going over here. I'm glad I've got places to go and learn how I can view other dramas that nyc isn't showing. I've got broadband, and I'd like to try to download and watch the other show y'all are talking about. Let me know how it turns out for you ok?

your cheezy pal from the other place,
zEn
