What a fine, wonderful drama... so poignant. It has the same heartwarming feel to it that James Stewart portrayed in It's A Wonderful Life.

I will remember it for a long time. And Narumi Riko has made an immense impact on me. I will now try to see more of her dramas. I do hope she will have a long successful career.

In fact this will be one of my favorites to watch again periodically just as I watch Churasan at least once a year. It makes a nice comapanion drama to Churasan.

Since Sensei is currently watching this drama, thought I'd resurrect this thread.

This is a GREAT drama!! Besides the 3 main stars (Narumi, Ogata, and Takenouchi) you've got one of the best supporting casts ever. Mitsuko Baisho, Fumiyo Kohinata, Sei Hiraizumi, Yoshie Ichige. A bunch of real pros doing what they do best. Applaud

Very apropos. Thumbsup
I saw Ruri No Shime ep by ep as it came out the first time. But seeing it all in a row the second time was even better.
It really showcased Narumi's talent. I really liked her in Honey TO Clover also.

No, I just don't think she's in the same league yet as the people I mentioned. Hopefully someday she will be. Fingers crossed She was good in Ruri no Shima, but not as good as those other actors.
That doesn't mean I've stopped being a fan.

Her last 3 dramas (Ashita no Kita Yoshio, Pandora, and Shoni Kyumei) were all pretty good dramas. She did a good job in all of them but they all got horrible ratings. Probably because the target audience wasn't 17-21. Shake Head

Really?
I thought she was very believable in her role.
And suitably cast though perhaps it was not an overly challenging one.
Still there was a naturalness to her that I liked very much.
But then I am a fan. Beaten

I still lurk A LOT on jdorama even though i have started posting. Anyway just want to say that I'm happy to know that the jdorama members who's posts i always read (and agree with) like this drama very much. w00t! And i think this drama is sadly under-rated. Shake Head

Great minds think alike. Mr Green

I watched this series non-stop, one episode after another. Reading that many of you are re-watching this, tempts me to do the same. But there are just TOO MANY dramas on my watch-list at the moment. Decisions. Decisions.

LOL! Only the two. I would have continued, but then I'd have to get out of bed and find the next disc. I'll prolly finish it tonight, though.

Then there is the SP. Do you have it? For once the SP is as good as the original.

Of course, I was a tad bit disappointed that YT wasnt in the special, but it was lovely too. Kept the same feel. Victory! Peace!
