blurb about the show

--------------------------------------------------------------

Bitter is the appropriate adjective for all the characters in Nyokei Kazoku (Thursdays, 10 p.m., TBS network). Reiko Takashima plays the 35-year old eldest daughter of a wealthy company president. He has passed away leaving behind three daughters who all dislike each other, a mistress (Ryoko Yonekura) and a best friend and business associate, Ono, played by the great character actor Isao Hashizume. Ono is handling the estate but definitely does not deserve such trust, being involved in all sorts of backroom financial shenanigans.

Hovering in the background is the head of a Japanese traditional dance school (Katsunori Takahashi) who is covering his financial bets by going after both the eldest sister and the mistress. Takashima and Yonekura make believable rivals. In fact, there has been some wide show chatter insinuating that they were rivals on the set of this drama too.

The acting of all the characters is good, and those who are fascinated by the clever manipulations of a grand inheritance battle will probably enjoy this series. But after it became clear that even Ono is a scoundrel, I gave up. Who wants to watch a drama that lacks even one redeeming character?

Hmm, that's interesting....

Uh, can you also post your info source? It'd be nice to know where the info came from... Smile

Y'know, that seems to be the norm: I've seen other premiers/introductions and everyone seems to be rather stoic, if not downright upset... Dunno why. Head Scratch

I'll be sending this drama out to you once I've completed downloading it. Big Grin Sorry, I haven't been watching it. It's one of the more serious dramas this season.
