Congratulations to Jin! I'm so happy for him! I can't wait for his future works and concerts. I hope that his solo career will continue to grow (as well as kat-tun's).

Akanishi Jin’s American debut “Test Drive” scheduled for November 8

Details have finally been announced regarding Akanishi Jin’s debut American release. He will start out with a digital-only single titled “TEST DRIVE Feat. JASON DERULO,” to be released on November 8. After that, he will release the song in Japan as part of a new mini-album that goes on sale on December 7.

Akanishi’s American debut single was first announced in February of this year. The song is a collaboration with singer-songwriter Jason Derulo, produced by J. R. Rotem. Akanishi is releasing the single through Warner Music, using the artist name “Jin Akanishi.”

Because the digital single will not be made available for download in Japan, Akanishi will release it as a mini-album in Japan on December 7. The regular edition will contain three versions of “TEST DRIVE,” plus three other songs titled “MY MP3,” “PAPARATS,” and “TIPSY LOVE.” The limited CD+DVD edition will have the same tracklist except without “TIPSY LOVE,” but the DVD will have the music video and the making video for “TEST DRIVE.”

Akanishi is said to be planning his first U.S. album for 2012, but a release date has not yet been announced. He is working with music production team Stereotypes, who have previously worked with artists such as Far East Movement, Usher, and Justin Bieber.

Akanishi is also making his Hollywood debut next year with Keanu Reeves’s movie “47 Ronin,” coming out in December 2012. Akanishi was revealed as a cast member this past spring.

Idol/singer/songwriter Jin Akanishi, whose English single, "Test Drive featuring Jason Derulo," took the top position on the US iTunes digital music store's Dance chart on its debut week, is back in Japan and will be holding an exclusive fan appreciation event to celebrate his new music and to thank his fans. This “LIVE from Yokohama” event will be presented via live stream at Los Angeles' Grammy Museum.



Akanishi will be performing tracks from his new album, and will hold a fan Q & A from the Grammy Museum moderated by popular Comedian and TV host, Paul “PK” Kim.

I've never been to that particular museum. Haven't heard any superlative reviews about it.

Singer Jin Akanishi was supposed to make a grand return to Japan with seven arena shows following his five city North American tour, but those plans have all been canceled by his talent agency as punishment for his recent marriage/baby situation we previously reported on.

Akanishi and actress Meisa Kuroki (currently three months pregnant) handed in their marriage registration February 2nd. The pair did this without briefing their agencies, however, and Johnny and Associates (who also reps SMAP, Arashi, Sexy Zone, etc.) did not take kindly to this slight.

In fact, not only are the calling a full stop on his upcoming tour, but they are making him personally cover any related penalty fees. Tickets hadn't gone on sale yet for the April-May shows, but there is still the matter of the arena reservations, the cancellation fees of which could be pretty costly.
