This is not a one-off incident of her having a bad day. After watching her in other interviews, it's obvious she's had a bad attitude problem for a long time.
As for her age, 21 is young but not *that* young in Japanese entertainment. And remember that she started her modelling career at 13 so she has been working for 7-8 years in that industry already.
Maybe her manager and agency should take some of the blame? It is their job to guide and advise her. They should have nipped this in the bud a long time ago and given her a final warning.
I hope they don't sack her so she can continue to entertain us with her selfish behaviour

First time posting here, but anyways, I think the only thing that's worse than her attitude is the fact that she acted as this REALLY nice girl in 1LOT. I mean, when someone acts a role like that, people expect THEM to have a good attitude to life. People expect that even from the horrible villains. And it's quite sad that she was cast for a role like that, because after having performed it beautifully, she hasn't connected with it. Like, she became bitchier instead of appreciating life!
And according to arashi.vox, when the real mother of the real aya came to the set, she requested that Erika act out the small things so people understand the diesease and Erika said, "'Excuse me? Even if you don't tell me these things, a role like this is easy, because it's ME!'"
BITCH.
Another point by arashi.vox was that she was "cold and distant" when the real mother of aya came on the set, whereas the drama mother started crying when she met the real mother, further illustrating the point that Erika is extremely insensitive and bitchy.
When I heard that Erika was a bitch for the first time, I didn't really believe it and tried to find some info that proved she wasn't. But now, there's no excuse for her behavior.
And some people said something about having a bad day.
First, if you were having a bad day, alright, be depressed, don't talk, w/e. But there's no need to tell the world that you're having a bad day by crossing your arms, having your nose stuck up in the air, etc.
And second, if you needed the world to know that your life isnt going so well at the press conference, why burst out in tears in the interview and not be able to tell what's wrong with you?
Erika needs to see a psychiatrist. _________________

LOL, you guys are cracking me up.
Sounds like this girl has some issues.
Absolutely! And the fans and press are so rabid about it, that she won't have a chance to make amends. In a few years it'll be "Erika who?"
Somebody once tried to make out that Otsuka Ai was a porn star before becoming a singer. Yeah, right. As if THAT wouldn't be uncovered and used against her The entertainment industry likes their girls to conform to their ideal... if they don't fit, out they go.

Probably close. I'd say, a girl with an attitude caught in a bad day. (I know many people like that -- some even on this board.) Funny thing is, when Akanishi Jin was caught with his pants down and his hands on a 14 year-old girl, the whole thing was swept quietly under the rug. But when a girl doesn't behave like a Yamato Nadeshiko, she's knocked down and dragged in mud. That's fairness in a man's world for you...
yeah but the attention she brought was not good..because many irate fans flooded the film's website with scathing comments about her attitude and the site crashed with all the angry comments....
many ppl said they would not see it because of her behavior
yeah, even director yukisada said that with all the publicity, the movie is kawaisou -- or something like that. _________________

ah man, fo' real though...she's being extremely petty, and rude and then she's sporting this fake wig and a dress that looks like it's made from dried frog foreskin.
dude i dunno...she needs to come correct...well she's taking a beating in the press....that she brought on herself.
i like the comedian in the beginning who is kicking the tv and calling her an "aho" in kansai-ben (kansai dialect).
