Nah, they hate everybody. I have been ignored by barstaff, kicked out of taxis, shouted at by sales people, ignored by Telefonica. To put it differently, it takes a while to find sunshine in a Catalan heart (rightly so, looking at history and Franco). Plus customer service is not part of anyone´s job description.

Sounds exactly like Japan...no wonder you liked Nagoya so much...it's like Barcelona 2

Exactly! Sometimes I was in a supermarket and I didn´t know if I was still in Barcelona or already in Nagoya. Not to mention the beaches and the architecture.

That's too funny.
Anyway, sorry for being OT..I wonder if Sawajiri will get it together again after she gets all the partying out of her system. She's still young enough to make a comeback although it seems a bit dim for her at the moment.

I never felt that way in Japan. I mostly look white, but I'm a quarter Japanese and was with my family in Japan the whole time though. But it was in Tokyo and Tokohama, not Nagoya _________________

No I was joking about Nagoya...EstherM spent some time there and really liked it...I was just being sarcastic.
Well I'm not Japanese or white and I never had any troubles regarding the locals, from Tokyo to Kyoto. Not to say it's a perfect world but I think the general consensus among many is that the Japanese people are far more polite and courteous to tourists than in other countries, be they Spain or otherwise.

yeah but hirosue always had a good base to build a comeback from but as far as i can see, sawajiri erika has gone way too off the rails!!!!
BUT yeah u never know! hirosue, even when she wasn't in the full swing of her career, was always loved by the japanese public
but lets hope erika can make some sorta comeback! _________________

Once she gives her old JiJi husband the and cries a couple of times on TV, shaves her head in contrition, and then 土下座...everybody will love her again.
