Maki has another movie coming out this year, scheduled to be released on April 30th, Kore de Ii no da!! Eiga: Akatsuka Fujio, also starring in it is the fantastic Tadanobu Asano.
Description: In 1967, Shogakukan is holding their employee initiation ceremony when Fujio Akatsuka (Tadanobu Asano), a well-known manga artist for Shonen Sunday, begins addressing the unsuspecting crowd while dressed up as the character Iyami from his popular gag manga �gOsomatsu-kun�h. He then tries to get the new recruits to strike Iyami�fs trademark �gSheeeh!�h pose, but new employee Hatsumi (Maki Horikita) is taken by surprise and can do nothing but stare in disbelief. When Akatsuka tries to force her to do the pose, she reflexively punches him in the face.

It was clarified on the 22nd that Maki Horikita starred in the drama "It is born. " which is being broadcast by TBS in April starts.
The theme of this drama is "Honorable of the life" and "Family ties. ",depicting late childbearing.
Her post confronts various problems of happening between younger brothers including mother's late childbearing.
The producer Sanae Suzuki explained the reason to appoint her that Maki horikita was a serious character and The viewer could feel sympathy in her. _________________

Actress Horikita Maki (22) is confirmed to star in a new TBS drama series titled �gUmareru�h this spring. Her supporting cast will include Tanaka Misako (51), Kanjani8 member Okura Tadayoshi (25), and Johnny's Jr. member Nakajima Kento (16).
Horikita plays the eldest daughter out of four siblings. One day, their 51-year-old mother informs them that she is pregnant, upsetting the balance of their home and threatening to expose a long-hidden family secret. The expecting mother will be played by Tanaka, who previously had an opposite role in the teen pregnancy drama �g14 Sai no Haha.�h
Okura will play the oldest son of the family, and Nakajima will play the second son. Miyake Yuji (59) has been cast as the father.

On March 2nd, Maki participated in the fashion show for women�fs magazine, �gspring�g. Actor Tanihara Shosuke was also present as the MC for the event.
At the event, Maki walked on the runway in clothes designed by the popular brand, �gJILL by JILL STUART�g. Reflecting on her runway experience, she expressed, �gI was a little nervous at first. I can�ft walk as well as models, but I tried to showcase the cuteness of my outfit while walking.�h
When Maki commented, �gThis spring, I want to challenge feminine fashion like lace, and become a �enaturally cute�f woman�g, Tanimura told her she was �gso cute, [I] want to give you a kiss�g, drawing laughter from the crowd.

Today it was decided that actress Horikita Maki will star in NHK�fs next morning drama that will begin airing in the spring of 2012.
Similar to the currently airing morning drama �gOhisama�g, starring Inoue Mao, NHK decided to make the offer to a popular actress again instead of going through the standard practice of holding an audition. This announcement has already gained quite a bit of attention, even though the details about the story have yet to be revealed.
Thus far, Horikita has never starred in a NHK drama before, even so she managed to build up a nice track record of starring roles on commercial stations and in movies.
NHK stated, �gWe decided not to hold any auditions and are currently advancing into the process of casting the additional cast members.�h
An insider revealed, �gWith the success of last year�fs �eGegege no Nyobo�e and this year�fs �eOhisama�f, it is most likely that Horikita�fs morning drama will be set sometime in the past as well.�h

After the not-so-official announcement earlier this month, NHK held a press conference with actress Horikita Maki to make it official that she will star in next year�fs morning drama.
The drama also has a title, �gUmechan Sensei�g, and Horikita is already trembling with excitement. She said, �gI�fve never been so nervous and felt this much pressure before.�h
As expected by various insiders, the drama will be set in the past as well, the time of the post-war reconstruction to be exact. Horikita will play a female doctor called Umeko, better known to the people as �eUmechan-sensei�f, treating all kind of patients in Kamata, Tokyo.
NHK once again decided to send the offer directly to the actress instead of holding auditions for their next morning drama. It was the same case with this year�fs �gOhisama�h starring Inoue Mao. Horikita�fs most recent appearance on NHK was for the taiga drama �gAtsuhime�g.
Chief producer Iwatani Kanako didn�ft hold back with the praises for the actress. She commented, �gLast year I experienced her stage play and I could feel all this powerful energy coming from her slender body. Somehow she is an actress who embodies the atmosphere of the Showa era (1926~1989), so I think she is the perfect choice for this drama.�h
Horikita�fs character, Umeko, also bears the burden of being the youngest of three siblings. Her older sister and brother are called Matsuko and Takeo, so she often refers to herself as the plum (ume) of the auspicious group of pine (matsu), bamboo (take) and plum. This auspicious group of plans and trio of kanji is also called the �fshochikubai�f.
Her thoughts about this kind of character, �gI haven�ft yet put myself into the shoes of this character, but with her initial inferiority complex, I�fm personally looking forward to what kind of path she will take.�h
About playing the lead in a morning drama, she commented, �gI haven�ft told anybody about it yet (laughs). I expect everyone around me will know it after this announcement. Personally I�fm a little frightened. The filming will take place for a very long time and I still can�ft image what it will be like every day.�h

It�fs been announced that actress Horikita Maki will be the charity personality for this year�fs �g24 Hour Television Ai wa Chikyu wo Sukuu�g.
Horikita commented, �gUntil now, 24 Hour TV has given me strength, so I want to do this powerfully.�g It was also announced that Miyagawa Daisuke and Imoto Ayako will be program personalities, and Kuroki Hitomi and Maya Miki will be the special supporters.
Horikita will deliver this year�fs theme, �gChikara �`Watashi wa Taisetsu na Hitori�g, with main personalities Kanjani 8. Directed towards the victims of the Tohoku Earthquake, Nishikido Ryo stated, �hThis year is special. We want to do whatever we can.�h Ookura Tadayoshi piped in, �gMany people of different genres have come together, and are deeply moved. As 24 Hour TV�fs wheel, I want to take part with all my strength.�h
This year�fs marathon runner Tokumitsu Kazuo revealed his �etrue�f intentions by saying, �gIf possible, I want Horikita-san to meet me at the goal. If not, I won�ft be able to run.�h Announcer Hatori Shinichi, who will be receiving the baton from Tokumitsu, added, �gI thought Nishio-san (the host) would be my strength, but I feel I will be getting strength from Horikita-san.�h
Program personality Miyagawa commented, �gFour months since the disaster. We will face more difficult things, but I hope energy will be conveyed through my feelings.�h

Maki chan was here in Jakarta (Indonesia) last month,,,she was filming for a charity program for a television channel in Japan, and will be aired (already aired) this August....
she was so close,,,and I didn't know that she was in Indonesia
arrrgghhh why didn't she told her fans in Indonesia, at least we can see her face, or shake hand,,,or a hug
