I only liked Salmon in ONE movie, and it was one of his first, before he became all gross: Mana Pyar Kiya (I think that's what it was called). I own it. One of my favs.

"Before he got all gross"? You mean he was decent before?? Maybe I should check that movie out.

I saw Jab We Met yesterday and I enjoyed it a lot. Kareena Kapoor kind of annoyed me at first with her constant talking, but she kind of grew on me. I thought Shahid Kapur was really cute even when he was being all emo at the beginning of the film. I absolutely loved all the songs in the film, but the performance at the end reminded me of something that would be on MTV, so it just felt out of place.

I did enjoy this film more than Chori Chori, but I still think that the epic film Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam was a lot better.

You'll be hardpressed. It's really old, and I don't know if it's online. You could always check tho.

Ugh! I dislike Kareena Kapoor. She is SO annoying! I only enjoyed her in Kabhi Khushi, Kabhi Gham - which, btw, you HAVE to watch! It's an excellent film, starring Shah Rukh Khan (the biggest name right now) and Kajol, Ajay's wife in real life.

Shahid Kapur is uber kawaii, but he fell from grace when he started dating Kareena in real life. What was the boy thinking?!

omg!!! i LOVE kabhi khushi, kabhi gham!!!
kareena is pretty annoying, but her character was funny in the movie.
i think hrithik roshan is the biggest bollywood actor right now.
he's the highest paid actor in bollywood...at least that's what my indian friend told me.

Do not doubt the power that it Netflix...I found it easily and I just put it in my queue. Victory! Peace! Now to decide if I should move it up to the top or get Asoka next...

And oh good. I thought I was the only one who didn't like Kareena Kapoor. When I looked at IMDB, there were a lot of people praising her acting and I was all Confused about it. Still, her character did kind of grow on me when she stopped doing the chatterbox routine, but I still was a little annoyed.

Shahid Kapur dated her?? Lucky for her, but I'm unsure what that says about him. Sweat

Nuuuuuu I don't believe he is. I think it's Shah Rukh Khan. Plus, Hrithik hasn't been acting lately in big films... at least, not as much as he used to. He's darn smexy tho.

Ashoka is one of my favourite movies, but you may want a break from Kareena. I would watch the other first. It's looooooooong tho.

I KNOW! What the heck is up with that?! I started hating on Saif when he divorced his wife when he started to make it big. What a piss move. But I do like him in movies... Confused

Saif is good at doing those goofy characters.. Its hard to make a film succeed with him as the main lead.. He is normally good at being a side kick.

Yup, though I thought he was great as the lead in Hum Tum.

Hmm...I don't know if I really want to watch a looooooooong movie right now, so maybe I should go for Main Hoon Na or Omkara next. Unless you or anyone else can suggest something else for a Bollywood newbie?

He divorced his wife because of that? Yeesh. I guess I'll try not to judge actors on their decisions in the personal life; I'll just concentrate on their acting and movies.

I watched Kuch Kuch Hota Hai today and I enjoyed it a lot more than those two duds I watched before it. It was also my first Kajol movie and I found her Anjali character to be very likeable. When they showed the college scenes, I thought it was so adorable when Anjali and Rahul got into competitions and tried to one-up each other. And it was a little sad how that dynamic was disturbed when Tina came into the picture, but at least there was not too much hate or hostility between the females.

I was amused when Salman Khan showed up as the fiance in this film. Haha, at least it was only a bit part, but of course, he had to show off his muscles and bench press a table with the younger Anjali sitting on it. hehe

Overall, I thought this was a great watch and since I like makeover movies, I'll probably give it a 9/10.

Next up: Om Shanti Om

Kuch Kuch is a must see for all noobs, FOR SURE! Some trivia, Kajol and Rani (Tina) are cousins in real life, and both are HUGE actresses. Kajol doesn't come in movies much anymore since she got married to Ajay, but Rani is still going strong. Both have come in a lot of movies with Shah Rukh Khan, who is also in Om Shanti Om. Big Grin

Wow, they're cousins? I guess good looks runs in their family. Smile And too bad about Kajol not acting anymore because I out of all the actresses I've seen so far, she was the most likeable one.

As for Rani, do you recommend any of her movies? I have a few of Kajol's movies on my queue, but I'm curious about Rani stuff now.

I can if you want. And if you find a movie that you want to watch without subs, I'll translate for you.

Rani Mukherjee suggestions:
- Black. One of Rani's movies that completely blew me away. I don't know if it's your cup of tea, but she really proved herself here.

- Hum Tum. A movie with Saif. It's a sweet love story.

- Veer-Zaara. I've already recommended this movie to you. Rani was great.

Thanks for the suggestions, Wyn! I already have Veer-Zaara on my queue, but not the other two, so I immediately added them. Smile

YAY! I think I'm gonna re-watch Veer-Zaara tomorrow. It also stars Preeti Zinta (I think that's how you spell her name...) who's also in the A-category of actors/actresses.
