Model-turned-actress Yamada Yu (23) made her live singing debut yesterday at an event that also featured her younger brother. She was a surprise guest at the "Shibuya Girls Collection" in Tokyo, a combination of fashion and live music. She performed five songs, including her latest single "Fiesta! Fiesta!", during which she was joined by dancer Sam (45)

SO that's Yamada Yu...
I have seen her in the last three week's NHK Music Japan...
I am not going to slander her, but just that she can dance but not sing...
She sung Fiesta! with a very catching breath looks...
After that she just went out of breath when the MC asked her about her first debut... _________________

Yu Yamada gets leg over actor Shun Oguri to get leg up in career
Japan is abuzz that hunk actor Shun Oguri and model cum actress Yu Yamada, two of the biggest names in the celebrity world, have confirmed that they're an item, according to Shukan Bunshun (5/22).
"Shun Oguri is hot. He's effectively replaced Takuya Kimura as the man women most want to go to bed with," an entertainment beat editor tells Shukan Bunshun.
Oguri and Yamada hit the headlines this week after tabloid magazine Friday caught them on a secret trip together around the Seto Inland Sea.
"Yamada confirmed they started seeing each other after a party in March to mark the end of a TV show they'd done together," Masaru Nashimoto, doyen of Japanese showbiz reporters, says.
Oguri has a rare standing among Japan's showbiz watchers.
"Oguri never acts like a big star. The media loves him. He'll give good interviews and even if his agency doesn't want something talked about, they'll say it in a nice way. His dad was a stage director and brother once worked as an actor, so I guess the environment he grew up in had some bearing on his attitude. He's been involved in showbiz since he was a kid, so his approach to people is different to someone who's just popped up out of nowhere. He's normal," critic Kazuhiko Futada tells Shukan Bunshun.
Oguri is tall, good-looking and a nice guy -- which explains why he's apparently dampening so many panties – and yet his record with women hasn't been the greatest, the weekly says. He's been linked in the past to Morning Musume's Mari Yaguchi, model Miho Tanaka and actress Yu Kashii, none of whom are quite at the top of their respective fields as Oguri can claim he is.
It's a different story for Yamada, who's now trying to make a name for herself as an actress following a successful career as one of the country's top celebrity models.
Shukan Bunshun (5/22)A reporter for one of Japan's tabloid TV news programs says the importance of Yamada's relationship for her career is evident by the way her handlers quickly acknowledged the love match's existence. The hack notes that when Yamada was revealed in 2005 to be dating, her agency quickly announced that the relationship was over. But it's a different story now.
"When she was found in a relationship a few years ago, she was at the peak of her modeling career and the idea she had a lover apparently threatened to be a black mark on her image," the hack tells Shukan Bunshun. "But it's different with Oguri. Being with him makes Yamada the envy of women across the country and really improves her image, so her handlers admitted to the relationship straight away."
