She was in New York a couple weeks back for their Japan Film Festival. FCI did an interview in studio, no subs, but still, those legs go all the way to the top: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nl3NN4bQ3C8&feature=g-all-u

Masami Nagasawa added to cast of 'Bokutachi no Koukan Nikki'

On October 29th, it was announced that actress Nagasawa Masami is going to appear in a supporting role in Uchimura Teruyoshifs second movie eBokutachi no Koukan Nikkie.

eBokutachi no Koukan Nikkif is an adaptation of Suzuki Osamufs novel eGeinin Koukan Nikki ~Yellow Hearts no Monogatari~e and depicts the struggles of a comedic duo in the Japanese world of entertainment. Suzuki himself is the writer for many very popular variety and comedy shows on TV and Director Uchimura is a comedian and entertainer himself, which sounds like a perfect combination for this sort of movie.

It was already announced the two protagonists who form the comedic duo eBousou Swimmersf are played by Ito Atsushi and Koide Keisuke. Nagasawa is going to play a woman who works at a drugstore at daytime and as a hostess at nighttime. Her boyfriend (Koide) struggles to make a living as a comedian, but she supports him all the way and even becomes his wife.

Kimura Fumino, Kawaguchi Haruna, and Sasaki Kuranosuke were also announced as part of the supporting cast. Kimura plays the woman who later becomes the wife of Itofs character, Kawaguchi plays the daughter of Koide and Nagasawa, and Sasaki plays the TV producer that controls the fate of the comedic duo.

eBokutachi no Koukan Nikkif is slated for a release on March 23rd, 2013.

Masami Nagasawa joins cast of John Woo's 'The Crossing'

Nagasawa Masami will participate in John Woo's upcoming two-parter "The Crossing". The film features an ensemble Asian cast headed by Tong Dawei, Zhang Ziyi, Huang Xiaoming, Song Hye-kyo, Kaneshiro Takeshi, and Nagasawa.

Production began earlier this month and the production team around Woo are still in the talks with many more actors. "The Crossing" is set against the upheavals of revolutionary China in 1949 and depicts the story of three couples from different backgrounds who make a fateful voyage on a ship fleeing China to Taiwan. The screenplay is written by Wang Huiling, who previously co-wrote "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" and who adapted "Lust Caution".

Nagasawa has already appeared in a Taiwanese drama, which is slated for broadcast this summer, but it's her first appearance in a foreign film. She was able to polish her language skills in the drama that was filmed entirely in Chinese, which eventually led to this casting offer according to her agency.

The foreign actors will join the production later this month. Filming is scheduled to take place in Beijing, Shanghai, Taiwan and other locations. Woo plans to release the first part of "The Crossing" in China at the end of 2014 and the second part in 2015. A Japanese release date has not been fixed yet.

Masami Nagasawa drama 'Toshi Densetsu no Onna' to have a sequel

Nagasawa Masami's drama "Toshi Densetsu no Onna", which was aired on TV Asahi during April ~ June of last year, will be getting a sequel starting in October.

"Toshi Densetsu no Onna" is a comedy mystery that features a beautiful female detective "Otonashi Tsukiko" (Nagasawa) who has an obsession with urban legends. Using her beauty and maniac point of view, she solves various unsolved cases that are somehow related to the urban legends.

The sequel will begin where Tsukiko, who went over to New York in the end of previous series, comes back to Japan, and she joins a newly created division in the Metropolitan Police Department called "Unscientific incident investigation unit ('UIU' for short)". The first episode will feature the urban legend related to Mount Fuji.

Nagasawa commented, "I can't be happier that I will be able to play the unique character 'Tsukiko' once again. I would like to do many silly things, including cosplay, this time as well."

Not only Nagasawa, but other regular cast members that include Mizobata Junpei, Takenaka Naoto, and Hirayama Hiroyuki, will also continue to make appearances in the sequel. There will be new cast members as well.

Just like the previous series, the sequel will be aired on TV Asahi's "Friday Night Drama" time slot (every Friday at 11:15 pm) starting in October.

Masami Nagasawa to star as Sho Sakurai's wife in FujiTV Special

Nagasawa Masami will be starring in the upcoming FujiTV drama SP "Kimi ni sasageru Emblem" which will be shown during New Year 2017. The drama SP features Sakurai Sho as the lead character Takajo Kazuya who is based on the life of Kyoya Kazuyuki, a former J-league soccer player who became a wheelchair basketball player after a traffic accident. Nagasawa will play Takajo's wife Nakagawa Miki who chooses to marry him despite his accident which took place just before their wedding and her parents' objections.

As this is the first time that Nagasawa is playing a wife with a disabled husband, she admitted that it was difficult to show the complicated feelings of her character. However, since she was a child, she had seen how people can be passionate about sports through her interaction with those working with her father Nagasawa Kazuaki who is a former national team soccer player and coach so she could identify with the feelings of the lead character. She was also impressed by how positive Takajo is even though he faces so many challenges and hopes that she will be able to manage the role of his wife. When asked about her impression of Sakurai who she is working with for the first time, Nagasawa praised him for being a person who doesn't give anyone pressure, is very tolerant towards others and seems able to do everything. As such, she could relax from the first day they started working together.

Filming began at the end of last month.

Masami Nagasawa to star in movie "Uso wo Aisuru Onna"

Nagasawa Masami and Takahashi Issei will be starring in the new movie "Uso wo Aisuru Onna" (The woman who loves lies) directed by Nakae Kazuhito which will be shown in cinemas next year. The two of them last worked together 14 years ago in the 2004 movie "Sekai no chuushin de, ai wo sakebu" when she was 16 and he was 23 but have collaborated in CMs such as the ongoing dTV CM where they play a married couple living far apart as the wife lives in outer space and the husband lives in Tokyo. Nagasawa commented that when they first worked together, Takahashi was already a well-respected senior actor so she is very happy to work with him again. Likewise, Takahashi said that he got to see how a young girl like her had grown up to be a charming woman and is looking forward to acting opposite her in this film.

In this love story with a tinge of mystery, Nagasawa plays Kawahara Yukari, a career woman working at a major beverage manufacturer who has been living with her medical intern boyfriend Koide Kippei (Takahashi) for the past 5 years and has plans to marry him soon. One day, Kippei collapses due to a subarachnoid hemorrhage and slips into a coma. To Yukari's surprise, when the police comes knocking on her door, she finds out that everything she has known about Kippei is a lie as his name, occupation, driving licence and family register are all fake. While trying to find out what kind of man she has loved, she heads to his supposed hometown on an island in the Setouchi Inland sea where she gets help from a private detective Kaibara Takumi played by Yoshida Kotaro to investigate the truth.

Filming began on 12 March and will be done at places such as Imabari City in Ehime Prefecture and Onomichi City in Hiroshima Prefecture. It is expected to be wrapped up at the end of April.
