All the regular stations are covering the Christopher Dorner manhunt so I thought I'd look for something else.

Channel 5.3 is showing Warren Oates in "Dillinger".

Now we'll find out where L.A. tv stations priorities are, the Christopher Dorner stand off or the State of the Union. I'm betting they stick with Dorner.

The major news outlets switched over, but a couple of the locals stayed with the standoff.

I was down in San Diego on Saturday and gas was about 10 cents a gallon cheaper. Of course I burned up half a tank of gas to find that out. Beaten

Don't know where else to post this, so I decided to post it here. When I was a kid, I used to follow professional wrestling. At that time one of the biggest names in "rassling" was Freddie Blassie. He was probably the most hated bad guy in wrestling at the time, which means he was very popular. He was loud, rude, fought dirty, and reveled in his meanness and villainy. He often appeared on talk shows, both locally in the L.A. area and nationally. He even had a hit song, "Pencil-Neck Geek."

Anyway, I recently found out that he was married for over 30 years to a Japanese woman. He originally met her while on a wrestling tour to Japan (pro wrestling was and is really popular there). I don't know why but this struck me as kinda funny. It seemed like such an odd pairing; I think those of you who remember Freddie Blassie would probably agree.

^ Oh yes. I remember Freddie and "Pencil Neck Geek" distinctly!

I found a link which shows a picture of the happy couple and Mrs. Blassie (Miyako) talks a little about their marriage: http://www.wwe.com/inside/news/classycar

Although something tells me Freddie never said "Tadaima!" and took his shoes off when he came home.
