The International Channel is about to start showing a series called; "Ooku - The Inner Place" on Sundays.

I was just wondering... has anyone see this show yet? Know anyting about it other than the officiall synopsis?

I'm a Miho Kanno fan, so I'm going to watch it anyway. But I was hoping to get an idea of what I was in for.

loveless,

I live in the San Francisco Bay Area.

The show is set to start on the International Channel this Sunday at 6pm.

As for taping... Not only am I not reliable (There will be a couple of Niner games opposite the show down the line) but I'm down to one VCR and a DVD player that doesn't record, so I can't make dupes right now.

Who knows. Christmas is coming. Maybe I'll buy myself a gift.

And yes, I'm a big Miho Fan. But don't worry. I'm saving my energy to fight off all the pretenders who think they're in love with my Miki Nakatani ;-)

This show completed recently on WMBC in NJ. Although I don't understand japanese, I am a huge Miho fan, so I watched every
episode. I thought it was terrific (and would love to see a subtitled
version) and do recommend it. It should be noted that Miho is only in about half the episodes.

Happy viewing,

So does anyone know what the gist of this drama is about? I can usually pass on normal modern conversational type stuff, but that keigo and dokoka-ben really stuffs me up. There isn't a write up here is there? Tried searching but couldn't find one.

And who is the chick who becomes Kanno Miho's confidante? I think I like her (and there aren't many actresses I like) ^^;;

I believe you're talking about Ikewaki Chizuru. She was great and her character provides the connective thread through the different story lines in the series.

I'm two episodes in now, and I really like this show.

And no, my Japanese is nowhere near good enough to really be able to pick up everything that's going on.

But most if it's pretty clear, and the scenes of the different factions within the Palace look like choreographed dance numbers. This is good theater.

Bummer to hear that Miho is only in half of the episodes. Thanks for the heads-up John.

The Fuji TV people are racist imbeciles, they cut off major potential pieces of market by only aiming at the Japanese in the U. S.
