I somehow have a feeling that Troy is not going to be that good. Usually an overly hyped summer movie with a foreign actor/actress, always turns out disappointing, and I always pity that foreign person.
Resident Evil 2 huh? Hope it can be better this time. I heard Spielberg is going to make a Fatal Frame movie based on the first game (the second one is creepier in my opinion, it forever changed my view on twins).
I had mega problems with Gladiator too. Why? Now, I like English (I've mentioned this before) . . . but, you got all these Greeks and assorted Asiatics . . . speaking ENGLISH. NOT historically accurate already. Sigh.
And critics hated The Passion . . . which WAS done in the ACTUAL languages at the time (Latin and Aramaic)?

No motivation to see Troy whatsoever. I have still yet to fully watch Gladiator as well. Total lack of interest.
I'll go see Spidey 2, but I'm not giddy with anticipation. From the trailers, it looks like they're still using that video game-like CGI for the fight sequences, and that sickens me. That action from the comic books are more realistic.
Aliens vs. Predator? Guh. Not me. Another $7.00 saved.
Collateral?? Yes. Michael Mann-Tom Cruise. A winning combination, I think.
I wanna see spiderman 2 also! Wait a second... I have yet to see the first one!

You're not missing that much. The story about how he gets his powers and learns to use them is more interesting that the action, which is lame. Excessive dependence on CGI, IMO.

Better than the LONG shots of Spidey being supported by probably what can be characterized as high-rise window-washer gear on the TV live-action Spider-Man from decades ago. I mean, the CGI technology's here; may as well use it. I can see the director's choice to use something like that for most of Spidey's action-movements -- our hero's entire body is covered with his costume, so, flesh parts are neglectable (ideal for CGI-ness, no?). Probably'll end up as one of the bigger hits of the summer.
I'll see Troy . . . I just don't know how well it'll do at the box office. I've read Iliad about five times. I've also read a buncha' studies on the epic. Let's see how well Wolfgang Petersen "gets" it.
Not seeing AVP, eh? Sleeper hit of the summer, you missing out.

The first one sucked (IMO). Too much computer generated/animated. Bleah.
Just like Hellboy
Nowadays they are too dependent on CGI
nothing beats hardcore blood squirting on the neck BATTLE ROYALE 1 (2 sucks!!), and good 'ol drama "Pay it Forward" or some Al Pacino movies (Simone, Scarface, GodFather).
Didn't like Gladiator..(suxxxx), not looking forward to see Troy. Spidey one was cool (imo)..OK..I stick around with Tom Cruise..phew..he's so gorgeous in real life.. anyhow..his movie seems to be far more interesting than the rest.
Not looking forward to anything but really looking forward of when this so called project at the office finalized within two months..Yeah, that's my summer blockbuster. I'm doomed if I failed. 'cause it will affect my appraisal next year..

Indeed bmw. I have no idea what the hype is about LOTR. Psfhhhhhhh.
Anyway, just off of work, gonna sign off and have a cig. Then go home and sleep. See you all later. [emphasis added]
SEE, man, if you enjoyed The Lord of the Rings (you're mentioning the truncated version of the name correctly; you suah you shuah you not one fan? ), you could've romanticized that part I emphasized above as, "gonna sign off and enjoy some Old Toby ultra; the finest cig' in all of Leeward Oahu right about now," but NOOOO. Ha. K-den, fellow, enjoy.

Okay I have a random complaint...WTF is up with that movie "Day After Tomorrow"? Why the hell did they feel the need to make another Armageddon movie? Just an excuse to use a lot of special effects if you ask me...

Armageddon-style movies seem to be all the rage in Hollywood. My guess this one is a protest against idiot Bush's environmental policies.

the day after tomorrow is one movie i'm willing to watch more than troy. somehow the idea just give me the 'kicks'.
speaking about troy, i was supposed to watch it today. but i backed out cause the early show tickets were sold out. what's left is the 11.50pm show....and i'm not willing to watch such a late movie!...due to various reasons of course.
anyway, my friend just came back from the earlier screening of troy. this is what he said....
