Synopsis
Miki Imai plays Midori, a fashion industry executive who is dedicated to her job but beginning to wonder if she is not missing something in life. Company colleague and former lover Eisaku Yoshida suggests she needs a husband and children and appears ready to take on the assignment. But Imai insists it is a deeper, more internal question like: "Why was I born and what am I supposed to do in this life?" Little does she know she is about to meet Koichiro, the heir to a tea ceremony empire and a young man who has had all those questions answered for him since birth.

1. Loved this Drama! Great Storyline but the Ending.. [Rating: 9/10]
I have to admit that I enjoyed watching this drama. Imai Miki "Midori" plays a very convincing honest person (kinda like Matsushima Nanako? heh:P) throughout the series and Ichikawa Somegoro "Kanzaki" is the one responsible for that. I also liked how each episode ended, where it leaves you hanging which also makes this drama addictive to watch b/c you have to know what happens next. But the ending also might leave a few of you hanging too. Then again the story has to deal with two people trying to find who they are and what their purpose in life is and I think if you can figure that out then you can understand why it ended the way it did.

2. A good Brand [Rating: 8/10]
Miki Imai was outstanding in this, I really gathered a lot of respect for her acting after this drama. I felt she was strong but vulnerable and a really good love story about two people searching for what was really important to them in life. Parts felt a little slow which made it hard to give it much higher than an 8 but yet somehow and 8 feels too low. I am having a difficult time with that part.

The theme song to this drama is just so catchy. It would be one that will stick on me for a while. I'll remember this drama as one directed with good taste. The story line may lack sometimes, but like any other drama, you'll need to stick to the end to find maybe a happy ending.

4. Okay.... [Rating: 6/10]
This drama was okay. It's the usual older woman younger man drama with the not so usual ending. It was good but I felt that it dragged in the middle. Overall good for at least a once over but not much replay value.

5. Didnt really like this one. [Rating: 2/10]
Ok I really didnt like this one very much. I found Sato Aiko's cjaracter to be pretty annoying at times and didnt like th chemistry that much between Imai Miki and her male lead. I dont really recommend this one.

6. Another classic [Rating: 8/10]
This drama is another memorable classic. I can't say that it is very exciting but it is good and Miki Imai was wonderful in this. I recommend it as a good drama for a mellow mood.

good japanese dramas go one up by using its storyline to espouse a philosopy of life or dwell on issues like the meaning of life. the brand storyline is not original, but the drama seeks with each progressing episode to share a moral through its heroine. the summation of her lessons -- from learning to free herself from the thinking and expectations of others, to the meaning of what "branding" really is -- are offered in the good final episode. dramas may not offer practical solutions to life's problems, but hey, they do remind us it is important to dream. good acting from the three leads and supporting cast. imai miki's wonderfully warm smile. ichikawa somegoro's charisma grows with each episode. eisaku yoshida brings out the layers in his character as he goes from ex-boyfriend to renewing his love for midori to having it rejected again, and through it all, making his love and concern for midori startlingly clear. entertaining, good looking drama.

Despite the rating i gave it, this was a very well played dorama, it probably would have been much more famous if the male lead wasnLt Ichikawa Somegoro, if his part was played by Kimura or Sorimachi this dorama would have very high ratings.
This was my first(and probably the last) dorama i watched with Imai Miki and i have to say she was awesome, great acting and such a beauty for a 37 year old woman(real age at the time of this dorama).
Ichikawa Somegoro played his part well, but he looks much more older than 25 and that killed a little the 10 year age diference problem.
I really loved the dialogue, very clever and interesting; the main plot is a lot like Anego, Sapuri and Hataraki Man, if you like those kinds of dorama you will enjoy this.

If there's a 11/10 score I would choose it! This drama portrays many real-life issues which to me are close to heart & what I can relate to. Once again the interesting dialogues and character development made me hooked and buffled. I was searching for it for yrs and finally managed to buy from HK. After 4 yrs and watched it the 2nd time, I am able to appreciate the issues at a deeper level. It's one drama that leaves me with lots of thoughts and reflections on life, one that requires a mature audience to unravel the underlying meanings of the scripts. The cast is very attractive and the soundtrack beautiful! One of the best ever!!

Pretty lame story about a romance in the fashion industry. What saves this from a much lower rating's the final episode where things sum up. That final episode's good & the reason alone for making this drama almost worth watching after all. But the overall problem with this story's the lack of credibility. And one great episode can't make up for 10 bad ones.

Similar to the title, I felt it's rather "Bland", umm.. Brand's storyline is something like man dorama for example OverTime and Majo no jouken where a older female is impress by a younger male and eventually fall in love...

Imai Miki looks good in the show. It shows how difficult it is to be a business woman in Japn, where males dominate. The supporting case is quite good too. You'll stick around for the ending.

miki portrayed a very elegant woman to the end. both supporting actors were very good looking. i love the plot wherein modernity and tradition struggles to the end.

Watching... this drama is more mature. I heard things about the ending but since I'm not there yet this is my rating so far.
Sato Aiko's character pisses me off. haha.

Romance between a young man and an older woman, who is also his superior. Gets a little draggy in the middle with an unexpected ending but nonetheless well filmed.

Good work by Imai, Ichikawa and Yoshida. For some reason, I empathized with Yoshida's character (the twice rejected boyfriend) the most.

My first taste of Imai Miki. Great in this series teaching us the tough world of 'perceived value' and keeping up with the 'brands'.

10 out of 10, if not, 11! One of the best drama with thought-provoking conversations and real-life issues. Great soundtrack & great performance from the cast, nevermind that they are not as popular as Kimura. You can grow on the lead actor's looks. I can only say it takes a mature audience to appreciate it. If you like dreamy, teenage romance or easy-to-understand scripts, you won't be touched by this drama.

Solid acting and a really basic romance taking place in the business world of Tokyo. The amazingly japanese view of brand names is creepy, and wonderful...
