Synopsis
Oomae Haruko is an A+ Temp worker who never cracks a smile or minces words, and leaves work on the dot. But her cynical nature indicates she has something painful to hide. Satonaka Kensuke has just been promoted to head S&Ffs new Marketing Division. Saddled with a rag-tag group of subordinates, he is struggling to lift his division off the ground. When Oomae is placed in Kensukefs department, she finds herself doing more work than she bargained for.

This is a timely drama that examines the different attitudes toward temp workers and regular employees, and the ways to overcome frictions in interpersonal relationships. This follows an October report on labor conditions by the Labor Ministry, which showed that, after regulations were relaxed, the proportion of regular employees to Temps had doubled compared to that of eight years ago..

1. SO MUCH FUN! [Rating: 9/10]
Haken no Hinkaku is terribly silly, and I enjoyed it VERY much. At first I wasnft sure what to think. I adore Shinohara Ryoko and for the first time I was watching her in a role I had never seen her play before. Usually she plays the charismatic, sexy type. This time she was playing a sweater-clad, anti-social type. She was very fun to watch (like during her abrupt head swings, speaking in her cute announcer voice, and her morning exercises LOL!). I was also seeing Koizumi Koutaro and Kato Ai in roles I had never seen them play before and both did a fab job.

The storyline has many faults, like how Matsukata Hirokifs character shifts from good-guy to bad-guy, and then good-guy again. When he turned into the antagonist, his direction with Omae Haruko sort of got mixed and lost and there was a serious breach in the plot. However, this was quickly rectified and because the drama is so silly, the fault was quickly forgiven.

I recommend this drama to anyone looking for something light and fluffy to watch. A MUST SEE for all Ryoko fans. :)

2. Absolutely love it! [Rating: 9/10]
Shinohara Ryoko shows her versatility in this drama. It's the complete opposite of her character in Anego. How on earth is can she keep such a straight face doing all those weird and funny exercises?! Nothing great about the plot, its basically one event an episode. Would have liked to know a bit more about her past in the drama though. But its bound to make you smile and laugh. So do check it out as its not your typical ordinary office drama.

3. Excellent [Rating: 10/10]
This is series has become my favorite comedy dorama of all time!
The cast and OST are so strange for this series, but matches the show perfectly. The script is VERY well written, and it's hilarious yet there are many touching scenes.
The four main characters develop really well throughout the series, and they really connected with me.

Definitely recommended.

She can type at the speed of light, staple like she has 6 hands, drive cranes and six-wheelers, slice fish like a sushi chef, yell like a sailor (in Russian), rope down elevator shafts, predict earthquakes, deliver babies, fight like a kendo master, perform flamenco like a pro, parachute over Tokyo, live among Andalusian peasants and, in the end, picks Mr. Wrong.

When I read the synopsis, it reminds me some japanese friends who did the same for getting more freedom to do what they wanted, like travel. They worked as haken for some time, and when the contract ended, they had enough time to, for example, come to Spain. It's almost the same situation like in this story.
About the dorama, I think this is one of the worst performances of Ryoko Shinohara, it was very boring seeing all the time her Christopher Lambert face, or known commonly Poker face, or her secret skills or abilities, it was like watching those american bad shows where the main character knows to do everything. This piss me off a lot. However the dorama is quite funny thanks to some characters like KuruKuru Perm (Yo Oizumi) or Miyuki (Ai Kato), even with the old man Ogasawara (Masao Komatsu).
As a fan of the Shigoto doramas, this is one of the best I have watched, I like the way they explained the "rivalry" between regular and temp workers, and more if it is seen from the point of view of the department chief Kirishima (Hiroki Matsusaka), for me one of the key points of the show.
As a curiosity, I wanted to watch this dorama since 2007, when I watched the scene of Ryoko Shinohara cutting tuna like a pro, in one of my visits to Japan.

I definitely think this wasn't Shinohara's best role/drama. I personally found her character offensive and needlessly rude and callous. I really didn't see the reason for her cold attitude. Yes, she got laid off once before, but so what? Her character also seemed somewhat... I don't know.. manly? Her ability to do so many jobs -was- funny, though... But I felt a constant sympathy for Koutaro's character, especially when he has that adorably sheepish and pitiful expression. Anyway, watching everyone around Omae getting stepped all over by her was terrible. But there was a reason I finished watching it: It truly was funny and cute at many parts, especially once Omae stopped being a bitch to everyone. Also, the remaining cast was also wonderful. It was kind of nice watching it, but I wouldn't watch it again.

One of the most enjoyable over the top dramas I've seen lately. Shinohara Ryoko plays an OL who makes a good salary, but doesn't stay in one company for more than 3 months. She's a mystery to most of her coworkers because she's diligent and very quirky about certain things (like leaving the office at the exact time the shift ends).

Anyway, the charm of this drama is the acting from the cast and the interactions amongst the coworkers. They were often times very funny and each character was likeable in his or her own way. You wanted to see what would happen to them in the end and you wanted some sort of romance to happen between Omae Haruko and the curly perm or Satonaka. This drama is definitely worth watching.

Just finished watching the show.. it was FANTASTIC!! can really relate a lot to the show.. its understandable that the ratings were high. Love it. There's mixture of comedy, little romance, office politics, touching moments and so many others that you can learn from her. She's amazing. Too bad that she only wanted to work for 3 months in each company. But sure glad that there's a sequel.. Looking forward to it very much.. and I hope that the original casts could return especially if there could be a love triangle :) A great show!

Cast is not particularly great but One of the better dorama this season. A story about the life of a `super` temp worker. Despite her superb abilities in the office she has quite some yet-to-be-revealed baggage from the past which forbids her from trusting others/corporate/enterprise. So far the episodes strike a good balance between office work, comedy, romance, temp worker and her own demon (which is the boring part).

April 2007: One of my fave this season so far. Shinohara Ryoko can pull of almost any role, can't get enough of her. The relationship between Haruko and the rest are interesting. At first all of them hated/ annoyed by her but in the end, they managed to 'see through' her in their own way. It's kinda unrealistic though, how can she managed to get so many certificates?? That's just crazy O.o

I have a soft spot for office dramas (I blame it on Ricky Gervais) and Shinohara Ryoko, I had to check this one out. I politely overlooked the Japanese interpretation of Spain and Andalucia but the whole drama stayed a mixed bag until the end. There were certain issues and stories I enjoyed, and certain things I deemed ridiculous. Wonder temps who save the the day every day do not exist.
8. Comments by calico [Rating: 9/10]
I am still watching this drama, but I am loving it. I would think it is the best of the lot for the winter 2007 season. Shinohara Ryoko is a riot. Love her! Her great acting skills are put into great use in portraying the challenges and prejudices faced by haikens (temp contract workers) in the Japanese corporate world "ruled" by permanent salaried workers.
9. Comments by ffrostte [Rating: 7/10]
The reason I watched this one is totally because of the main actress. And of course q didn't disappoint me. was good too (though I am a bit upset about the fact that this is just another supporting role for her).

New genre this surely is, a drama about haken! Good plots, very uplifting, but sometimes a bit overacted and exaggerated.

I really had a good time watching this dorama. Haruko is so damn good at her job that she just annoyed me but afterwards (and the same happens with all her colleagues) I just ended loving her ways and somehow being able to see beyond that cold, proud and almost perfect professional behavior. Really good dorama, it was so much fun watching it!

Not bad, but not great either. The overall plot is pretty boring and predictable, but I would watch it for the entertainment value and its hilarious moments. It is different kind of role for Shinohara Ryoko as compared to her other dramas. Best thing about the drama: the theme song "Mienai Hoshi" by Nakashima Mika *thumbs up*

awesome!!! i liked this series very much! funny, witty, very kekkon dekinai otoko-ish comedy yet has deep ideas instilled in it~ it gave me a newfound appreciation for hakens, though i've never known of their existence before.. shinohara ryoko rocks! the love story between kurukuru paamu & tokkuri was also a fun watch! =D

Story gets better as the episodes continue with nice development of the characters. There's plenty of funny moments but yet touching ones too.

Shinohara Ryoko puts up classic performance throughout, proving that she's definitely one of the best female actors in Japan. The supporting cast were great too.

The story deals with an office temp that can almost do anything. She has a varitey of licences and certifications that would make any worker jealous. Makes you wonder why doesn't she have a regular job? Gonna have to watch it find out. I really enjoyed the drama.

Ryoko Shinohara is DAMN HILARIOUS in this show. She can do just about anything and her way of speaking, her actions and everything is just so funny. They manage to inject some humour aside into a drama that is addressing a pretty depressing reality for those OL
16. Comments by Akiiness [Rating: 8/10]
Another new drama that I didn't regret at all picking up in 2007. I wasn't really interested in the casts, but a friend of mine insisted that it's a must-watch and shoved it in my face. It's very motivating and I ended up really liking all the characters.
17. Comments by Patazilla [Rating: 8/10]
Good drama which is surprisingly gripping. A bit confusing and muddy on the love front, which isn't overly explored, it's a nice workplace drama with interesting characters and an insight into Japanese working places, without getting boring.
18. Comments by Smiley_18 [Rating: 7/10]
Personally, I think it's one of the best of this season. The actress in this drama is good. The plot is good, since it reflects the reality of the working labour in Japan right now.

Shinohara Ryoko is the best actress ever! Loved watching every minute of her as Oomae Haruko. "Nani ka?" This drama was so addicting I couldn't believe when it ended!

I love Ryoko san but not in this dorama.
The characters are unreal, the screenwritter has overdone the heroine-ness of Omae-san and the inutility of Miyuki-chan.

Ryoko has taken so much macho woman role lately. She's such a delight to watch. I'm happy for her success. Wonderful drama! I wanna be like her LOL.

Super lady Haru-chan takes on annoying male emplyees and win!
I enjoyed her role because some Japanese males can be portrayed as such Big
Jerks!!!

This is a good one. It's funny, sharp, and just very enjoyable overall. I can still hear the flamenco music every time I think of this series.

Lovely watch. Amazing script. Don't expect a lot to happen in terms of plot, but the snarky, quick-witted dialogue will make you laugh out loud.

A pretty good drama imo. Super Ryoko can do so many things in it, unbelievable. I like her acting alot. She fits into the role perfectly!

Quite a interesting show by Shinohara. Although she acts as a very stern woman, there are really fun moments in the drama.
29. Comments by Ezalor [Rating: 5/10]
Watched the first 4 episodes so far, but it's so sterile and deadpan that it bores me to a greater extent I can bear.
30. Comments by butterLiLy [Rating: 7/10]
Pretty good. Love Shinohara's character in here as a no-nonsense Super-Haken. Heard there'll be a season 2...

Another great jdorama addressing the issues of temporary workers in the Japanese work culture. Shinohara Ryoko as Haruko-san is perfectly cast masking her vulnerable side with a stainless steel humourless shell. Strong supporting cast including Koizumi Koutaro and Kato Ai (clumsy but so adorable). A very satisfying human drama that triumphs in the end. Two very solid thumbs up. Thoroughly enjoyable.

Being an OL, I can considerate why Haruko's attitude cause your value in company is not loyalty, it's working ability.
