Many people seem to be a bit split over this, but I liked it very much. It's a very powerful story, dark and emotional. I think the writer(s) definitely plumbed the depths of depravity for this show: bullying, sadism, violence, treachery, betrayal, murder, jealousy, maliciousness etc. This show doesn't hold back any punches, the characters really live up to the title of the show: Human failure/unfit human.
I think the acting is very good, especially from Tsuyoshi and Koichi - it being one of their first doramas. Tsuyoshi is very good as Makoto, from being happy and optimistic to becoming miserable and despairing. I think Koichi did a very good job potraying some one like Ruka, who has a difficult time expressing his emotions and has a lot of repressed anger, when he does show emotions it feels suitable to the context. Akai Hidekazu as Gac-chan (Makoto's father) did a great job, loving father, vengeful father and everything in between, you could emphasis with everything he's going through. Kase Taisho (Nimi sensei), definitely bought out the batshit crazyness and manipulativenes of the character, at least he got his comeuppance. Sakurai Sachiko (?) was very good as the naive and clumsy homeroom teacher, her scene at the end, in the school assembly, was very good, very heartfelt. And let's not forget Koruda Yuki, going from a victim to ring leader to crazy, you could see it gradually developing.
The subtitles on my VCDs were okay, slightly mis-timed but I was able to understand what was going on. But damn the VCD producer, 'that kiss' was censored! And I have a feeling another scene or two may have also been censored but I can't be sure, they could have just been really bad jump cuts. I guess I'll just have to wait for the DVD, which reminds me I need to find a download for the extra ending from the DVD. |

my favourite dorama. unpredictable, wild, and insane. the plot is beautifully twisted, and the acting was impressive. though tsuyoshi and koichi were young, they showed good acting skills. ruka is harder to portray than makoto is, but i daresay that koichi did a pretty good job, especially considering his acting experience at that time. the chemistry between tsuyoshi and koichi is overwhelming. the rest of the cast were fabulous. filming and directing was well done, and so was the cutting. fabulous dorama, i just can't praise it enough. |

ive watched only 4 episodes and thats all i can BEAR bcos its just TOO DARK. its too POWERFUL than i can continue watching it. i thought i could finish it in three days, at the end i spent 2 months on 4 episodes and now ive decided to drop it until im brave enuf. the plot "sounds" cliche but its not your regular teenage dorama. basically, its not even a regular dorama. you just have to love Shinji Nojima and i admire all you who can finish this. |

It's really dark, but it's definitely worth watching.
I really liked this drama..
the incidents in this drama, though they are certainly extreme,
the kind of things that happen in real life.
It was really impressive how Nojima Shinji actually brought this on screen...
Plus, Tsuyoshi was very cute,
and Sakurai Sachiko was so pretty.. |

I only watched 3 episodes so far . . .haha I'm waiting to downlaod the rest . . . .but I don't really like this drama, it's wayyyyy too dark, but I'm amazed even back then kinki kids acting is soooooooo good!!!! haha they're born to be celebrities! I'll add more to this later when I finish the rest of it alrite!? |

I disagree with some viewers who comment on Domoto Koichi's acting as being wooden in this. His character has trouble expressing his emotions and a lot of repressed anger. I think Domoto Koichi makes these come across really well. |

started strong..powerful, promising and profound. but went downhill once makoto (doumotou tsuyoshi) died in ep 6.. once the adults took over the drama, it lacked the depth the story initially made you believe it will have. the kids were the real jem of this drama. |

It's good in a way that it shows some very cruel side of humans. But the story is really too sad and ridiculous at times. This is a really dark drama. The young actors inside are really good too! |
