Synopsis
Points to Watch
The popular actress Eri Fukatsu, who returns to a TBS drama after a long absence, plays the wife. Junichi Okada, voted "most popular younger boyfriend" in a certain magazine poll, plays the younger husband. These newlyweds find themselves caught up in all kinds of family troubles.

The troublemakers are mother-in-law Keiko Kishi and the three sisters-in-law Chikako Kaku, Tomoyo Harada and Koyuki - beautiful yet handfuls. But perhaps there are some who would sympathise with them? We expect this drama to become a must-see.

Storyline
Haruko Takanashi (Eri Fukatsu) is 30. She works at a radio station. She is approaching middle management where good looks alone aren't enough. She isn't very romantic so she devotes herself to work and play and suddenly finds herself alone. Just when she has given up on romance she meets a man. She meets him at a party to which she was taken by a subordinate at work. He is 25-year-old Ichiro Kashiwakura (Junichi Okada) and is nothing out of the ordinary. They start a relationship. One day, out of the blue, Ichiro ardently proposes to Haruko. Realizing that he really loves her, Haruko says yes and they get married. But she still hasn't told him her real age.

Now Haruko has to cope with living with Ichiro's mother, Satoko (Keiko Kishi), eldest sister Setsuko (Chikako Kaku) who has returned home, 2nd daughter Kazuko (Tomoyo Harada) who has just returned from a prestigious overseas posting with her company and the third daughter Sachiko (Koyuki) who seems to have reached a bit of a dead end in her life. Competition for Ichiro's attention is only one of many problems that arise.

1. i had high hopes... i]j [Rating: 2/10]
(forgive the blunt review:) i had high hopes for this drama, the cast is great, the... ummm... the cast is great, and... errr... yeah, the cast is great. Okada Jun'ichi, Fukatsu Eri, Kishi Keiko, and Koyuki i love especially. however, this drama is just poorly conceived, poorly written, and boring. plot progression is so lacking, this is really one i feel i could have watched just the first and last episodes and understood everything. no matter how skilled the cast may be, there's nothing they can do to avoid being boring when given such a boring script to read. the romance between Okada and Fukatsu, although it does become slightly more beleivable at the very last two episodes or so, i still have trouble understanding *why* they like eachother. after watching all 8+ hours of qjoOl, i feel i have only really enjoyed the small time given to Koyuki's character (really, the only well written and truly superbly acted role in this series) and her side plot with the owner, and *some* of Harada Tomoyo's side plot.

2. nice! [Rating: 9/10]
hee, after watching this, I suddenly feel like I want to be with some one too! Fukutsu Eri and Okada Junichi have such great chemistry together! They did such a great job of potraying the lovely durvey just married couple. I suppose I can understand him being over whelmed by the presence of some many women in the house :P. With sisters like that...
I particularly like Koyuki the best out of the 3 sisters. She managed to protray the gung ho- tough sister very well...(after seeing her act in more feminine roles like in the last samurai) and she's sooooo tall! I never realised that!
The show is really funny, many a time I just burst out laughing especially when Okada's ex showed up! But at the same time, it's a family show. Sisters bicker, but they stand by each other at the end of the day. hee... getting sentimental here, so i guess that i'll end off.....

3. Cute [Rating: 8/10]
The series summed up in two words: cute and funny. Though not dramatic in the slightest; best example is when episode 9 leaves with a cliffhanger that you'd think would have large repercussions, but silly music plays in the background during the reveal, and by the beginning of episode 10 you realize it was nothing. The drama also doesn't have much steam left after the ex shows up and leaves, so it relies on the charm of the characters to pull through...which works, despite the strangeness of seeing so many people over thirty behave as if they were twelve. Eri Fukatsu is great, but Koyuki steals the show.

Really heart-warming and sweet show. Feels like a female version of Muko Dono, :). Everyone is so well casted especially the sisters and the mother. It makes you realize how important the bonds of a family is and, for the first time, I realized from the mother's point of view, how painful it is to see her own children leave the house to pursue their own lives. Very well done! Highly recommend it! Oh, did I mention it is also hilarious, I laughed so hard. Well, I'll conclude this drivel with a Chinese saying: "There is no never-ending party" and I add: "cherish its joy while you can."

5. Very good! ^__^ [Rating: 9/10]
I liked it a lot! ^__^
I found it somehow hard to believe that it's from 2003, as it has a much older flavour (in the best sense possible...I mean it totally looks like a classic from the 90's imho). Extremely well written, with many funny moments, and also very well acted by the female cast: Fukacchan is great as always, but also the mother-in-law and the 3 "elder sisters" of the title are very good (my personal fave among them being Harada Tomoyo - too bad her other dorama "Straight News" and "Dessin", if I'm not mistaken, have never been subbed! T__T)

The drama was very well casted. The story maybe a little slow-paced but that's understandable since it is a family drama. Eri, Junichi & Koyuki acted really well. Especially Junichi, who looked very much the harried husband and younger brother. But I must say that the person who stole the show was Koyuki. As the tomboyish & out-of-luck sister, but the most spirited, she carried her role very well. I must say that it showed her versatility & diverse talents. Hope she'll casted in more starring roles, as like in Kimi Wa Petto, where her performance was a rock.

7. Not a must-see.. but nice to watch once or twice.. [Rating: 7/10]
I usually really like Fukatsu Eri as an actress because she really is great, hell the whole cast was full of good actors. I guess even with great actors, a soso script isn't going to help. It felt a little like a deja-vu of Mukodono at parts, and at others I really wondered what the chemistry was between the two main characters. Koyuki played her role very well and had the most interesting 'side-story' in the whole series. Well acted.. the drama just lacked ... something.. can't pinpoint it. It really only gets interesting halfway through when the 'ex' resurfaces...

I really loved this drama. I still haven't finished seeing, I have about 3 episodes or so left but it was really good from what I have seen. I read the summary and thought it wasn't going to be that great but I was very wrong. it's really cute and funny. SPOILER: Like when Junichi's ex comes back. I got so mad when she slapped Haru-chan o_O END SPOILER I really love and Junichi just adds to it. hehe. If you are a Junichi fan, then you will really love this drama. ^^

9. A nice, comical family dorama but not too cheesy [Rating: 8/10]
This is a perty funny dorama. I enjoyed it alot. Maybe becuz I personally love Okada Jun who in this dorama plays a character which is like really nonki na yatsu. And the always worrying and panicking Fukatsu Eri was very kawaii too. The three sisters added to the humor alot and so did Sada Masashi loving mother. It was just fun waching them two cuz they made such a cute couple.

This drama started off on a cute note - the meeting of Fukatsu Eri and Okada Junichi at her birthday part, she lies about her age to him even though she is 5 years older than him. Because the both of them drink, they end up going to a hotel and falling asleep in the same room. Nothing happens though, but Okada Junichi's character quickly falls in love with her.

After several months of dating, he proposes to her - but there is one condition, they have to live in his mother's house. She doesn't readily agree, but they marry anyway. Somehow Okada's three older sisters also end up living with them. This causes a lot of controversy between the newlyweds and the family. It was this latter part that the drama seemed to lose its "touch". The dialogue seemed to get pretty typical and the bickering just became a little annoying, even Fukatsu Eri's character. Also, even though romance was a large part of the story - I felt that the two main leads had very little chemistry and sometimes their interactions even were a little awkward.

Koyuki and Okada Junichi's characters, though, were definitely the highlight of this drama. I would recommend this if you were a fan of the main leads and/or Koyuki.

Fantastic light, comedic drama. I was engrossed in the story of Haru-chan and her new family. Although I could never relate to her situation, as a foreigner. I would never let my in-laws treat me with that kind of disprespect! Fukatsu Eri was lovely and really did an amazing job. She seemed so much younger! I was truly convinced by her. I wasn't particularly impressed with Okada Junichi, but he wasn't horrtible either. Out of the 3 sisters, I enjoyed Koyuki's performance the most. She was so funny and I think her "story" turned out the best. Suzuki Sawa, as Miki, was definitely my favorite side-character. She is very beautiful. Overall a good drama, perhaps even rewatchable.

I really loved this drama. I watched it because Koyuki was in it & I was not dissapointed. Her role was not a run-of-the-mill type & it show-cased her versatility as a serious actress - this time in a tomboyish/independent character & funny too. I saw that this drama came just after she was the lead in Kimi wa petto. So I couldn't help comparing her performances in these 2 dramas. Wow, 2 totally different characters & she pulled them off easily & convincingly. I gave a perfect 10 score because all the cast were wonderful too especially Junichi & Eri & their efforts made this drama a memorable one for me.

This drama has a simple storyline about a man who is 25 (played by Okada) and a woman who has just turned 30 (played by Fukatsu Eri--perpetually playing the "scary 30 year old woman") who end up falling in love and decide to get married. While their story is pretty standard and slightly interesting, the surrounding stories of Okada's siblings and mother isn't all that great. However, there are plenty of cute moments with the couple (their meeting in the first episode is THE cutest thing ever, I just died!), and other funny scenes to bump this drama's cool quotient!

well, this one is funny. offers both romantic (though just a little) and comedy. the attractive point of this movie is the trouble of a newly wed. they have to stay with a rather fussy mother and 3 troublesome sisters. although, at the end, the table is turned.... the sisters problems are actually more to themselves than suffocating the newly wed.... and in this trouble, the newly wed help them (though not always ended well)..... this drama is funny... worth to watch it if you are okay with "household living" and "comedy".......
8. Comments by Nermal [Rating: 7/10]
Nothing really new. I thought it looked a bit like 'Mukodono' without the over-acting from the main characters. It does have a great cast to support it.. but I thought they lacked a bit. Koyuki's character (sorry been a few days already..) had probably the most interesting parts and role. Other than that, it was a bit too predictable. It does really only get interesting halfway through.. ^^; Still... it's one of those that you can watch and enjoy.. not really a must-see.. but enjoyable nevertheless.

The ending made me laugh. Ooh, great fun. I love Okada Junichi's character. He's almost too lovable. Koyuki is one of my favorite actresses and I really adored her character, too. Oh, but I could hardly stand the one girl, the wife. She just complains 24/7, plots against her sisters-in-law and then brags to her friend about how perfect her marriage is. Made me twitch. But it's actually a really cute and funny drama. Therefore, no low marks from me.

Quite a funny drama in places. Especially with the big sister around with her half psycho character. Unfortunately none of the actreeses are really that appealing to the younger audience so it's a bit hard to watch seeing as the drama can be generally quite slow at times.. I like that folk song which the mother constantly plays on repeat...it kinda rubbed off on me as well haha..

My first Okada Junichi dorama! And I loved it. It was so darn funny. The sisters and the mother were casted very well. Koyuki is a chameleon. She is so cool here looking sporty and tomboyish. And I appreciated the looks of Junichi. Their chemistry onscreen is good. AND MOST OF ALL the cast did not overact to the point of cheesiness. Thank God! :-)

This is one of the most hilarious family dramas out there yet. The actor Okada Junichi(Youngest V6 member)and Fukatsu Eri are really good actors and actress, which make this story sort of more realistic because usually, dramas are not realistic. It's just everyday life with three sisters in their lives, ruining almost everything. I love this drama.

A heartwarming family drama illustrating the trials and tribulations of living in a single parent home with mutliple children. Fairly starstudden cast with J. Okada, Koyuki, and Eri Fukatsu. Somewhat average, but watchable. The character of the only son is a bit too much of a momma's boy but hey that is probably very prevalent in Japan.
14. Comments by kneehard [Rating: 10/10]
I was a bit sceptical at first because I didn't know any of the main actors in this dorama. But, the dorama managed to deliver a sort of entertainment that's lasting due to its family values. Plus the drama showcased a lot of the talents that made it big later such as Okada Jun, and the Densha Otoko guy amongst some of them.
15. Comments by mondainai [Rating: 7/10]
I watched this only because Koyuki is in it, and I didn't expect to like it at all. But it's not bad. I didn't find Fukatsu Eri and Okada Junichi believable as a couple, but the rest of the cast was stellar, particularly Koyuki. So, watch this if you get a chance, but watch it for the supporting cast.

A very interesting dorama. It's my second Okada dorama ever watched other than "Oyaji" and I'm kinda impressed with him in "Suekko". This Okada-Eri pairing is very fresh too. A very cute pair. The part of the dorama where they argued fiercely for the first time got my attention! :D
17. Comments by icpmat [Rating: 8/10]
Okada didn't seem to be the main focus of this drama except to fufill the 'suekko' part of the drama title. The varying personalities of the three sistes and the situational comedy they produced were pretty funny. I felt the pace was intended so that the drama ended in a cresendo.

Feb 2004: A very sweet and cute drama. Fukatsu eri and okajun made a cute couple. the three sister were "horrible" but they still live "peacefully" in the same roof. Not to mention the mother, abit oversensitive and a die hard fan of a male singer. The husband song really funny.
