Synopsis
Kasutoyo (I'll try to avoid mentioning too much or else I'd run the risk of spoiling the whole story) lived during the end of the Sengoku period (1546-1605). He was the first feudal lord of the fief of Tosa on the island of Shikoku. He served Nobunaga Oda, Hideyoshi Toyotomi and Tokugawa Ieyasu.

Chiyo (1557-1617) was his wife, and was known in history for her dedication and devotion to her husband (like Matsu was to Toshiie in Toshiie to Matsu).

1. Taiga drama [Rating: 10/10]
This was my favorite taiga drama since Musashi. I could not imagine anyone playing the part of Chiyo better than Yukie Nakama. When I heard the story was not going to center around a super famous character I was concerned but I have been surprised by a great story with tons of interesting characters living in extraordinarily turbulent times. I have also seen the title translated as Komyo Ga Tsuji which means distinguished.

This is an awsome Taiga drama. The casting and acting are superb. There's definitely awesome chemistry between Kamikawa and Nakama. It's a love story, adventure loaded and interesting sub plots type of drama. Highly recommend it and very entertaining in my book.

After a just average "Shinsengumi' in 2004 and a disaster with "Yoshitsune" last year NHK tried to catch lightning in a bottle again and went with a knock off of "Toshiie to Matsu". However, Yankumi ain't Nanako and Kamikawa ain't Karasawa. The best characters were Akira Emoto as Hideyoshi and Toshiyuki Nishida (great as usual!) as Tokugawa. Also, special mention to Hiromi Nagasaku, totally evil as Yodo!

This show is great... It has Nakama Yukie in it (Chiyo) as the wife of a spearman named Yamauchi Kazutoyo and they are both trying to live during the war age with Nobunaga as Kazutoyo's leader. This show is truly great and yu will learn alot about Japanese History in the 1500's-1600's if yu watch it

Reveals the history of the Japanese shogunate in the 1500s and reveals the loyalty/attitudes of the people back then. This is an extraordinary drama bringing back the past to the present~!

Another historical. It's so similar to Toshie to Matsu. Confused me at first.
