1. Fun [Rating: 8/10]
http://www.jdramazone.com/jdramas/meitantei-no-okite/

This is one drama that doesn't take itself seriously. Well, except for the last about five minutes. The initial concept is that it takes the clichés you can find in classical detective stories and ridicules them in a style not unlike the "Horror Movie", "Date Movie", etc. method. Except for the little fact that the three main characters actually know that they are in a drama with that goal, but this only increases the hilarity of the situations. The whole thing is actually funny and the episodes provide good entertainment.

For non-Japanese viewers I do have to note that the detective story concepts seem strange to us sometimes. This is because it's based on more Japanese detective stories than Western ones. The series I can find the most connection with is actually the anime "Detective Conan". Therefore I do advise watching a few episodes of that before watching this drama in order to understand some of the references.
Each episode can be viewed separately, and aside from the characters, they don't have much connection.

The main character is played by Matsuda Shota, whom we most know from "Hana Yori Dango". He is a very good actor and performs very well in all his roles. He seems to become one with the character and makes them believable. This drama only made me want to see more of him. Not to mention that he's cute.

The role of the female cop is played by Kashii Yu. She is good as well and looking very pretty in all the different styles they put her in. It's interesting to note that she actually had a part in the second live-action movie made from "Detective Conan". She is the most serious character in the drama, and also the required newbie cop. She represents the viewer in the show, and also a refreshing spot of reality in a story that sometimes goes over the top with the crazy.

Kimura Yuichi in the role of the 'cop who can't solve cases' - Okawara Banzo - is not very well known for most drama fans as he hasn't appeared in many. He is a comedian and naturally performs well. His character is the cliche detective story character, the cop who can actually arrest the bad guys, but is not very smart.

I recommend the drama for people who love detective stories, and are looking for a fun filled time.

I bought this show because of Shota. N honestly, he's very suave in this show. Apart from that, the show is a let down. Well, it try to be funny but i guess, the joke just fell flat most of the time. The three lead is quite engaging but they can't save e lame show. But Shota looks good in here. That's a minor consolation i guess.

Quite funny dorama about a police captain, a young detective and a rookie female cop. All of them are aware that they are inside a "mistery show" all the time, so they must follow this kind of show rules, and there are many connections to Detective Conan, Galileo, CSI... After having watched quite a dew detective doramas it was good to watch this one and think: "Oh, that happened in Unubore Deka/Kuitan/whatever!", but I'm sure I missed lots of details because there are many Japanese detective stories that I still don't know, so I ended up thinking: "Will this really be a reference to Unubore Deka/Kuitan/whatever or to a different show?". Matsuda Shota made a great acting as well as the rest of the cast. The beginning was a bit boring for me, but after a couple of episodes I started enjoying it. The ending... Well, it's a bit weird dorama, but I think I didn't like the very end. Anyway, I recommend this one if you want to watch something funny and easy to watch.

What a BAKA Tantei, i laughed a lot in every episode. First episode was great, the locked-room trick was really impress me, second and fourth episode too, beside this is the first time the detective makes wrong analysis. But the other rest episode was only comedy, especially fifth episode, about timetable trick, really boring, they manage to tell us about the bore of timetable trick. The final episode also a funny but no meaning, it really funny to have yukawa-sensei apperance(Galileo), at first i really hated it because they tried to make a fool of galileo drama, but i realize the writer was same person, so i allow it. The ending was suck, what the point of that, it's like wasting my 3 minute in the end, i better look tenkaichi die rather than looked a lame finishing like that.
Soundtrack: Fighting Pose no Uta [Baba Toshihide]: 10(Good song in wrong drama)

Watched this because of Matsuda Shota. It was quite funny. x3 Sadly due to its comedic, episodic appeal it didn't quite hook me since I'm not that much of a detective story fan to begin with, but it was easy watchable nevertheless and well made. Obejctively it's better than 7 points, but personally I love be emotionally drawn into dramas and this didn't really work for me here.

Maybe not one of the smartest or most interesting dramas, but Meitantei was pretty enjoyable. I liked the twist this had on a detective drama and it certainly put a smile on my face. Matsuda Shota is also great eye candy! But where this series failed was that it didn't quite hold up right until the end and lost some its comedic fervor.

the first ep is a spoof of murder of the inugami clan. The spoof of all the detective genre is funny but it gets tiring to watch after a while. nonetheless, great concept.
The fourth ep was quite entertainingo , halfway there was a random spoof of Haken No Hinkaku which I thought was damn funny. Irrelevant but still funny.

The drama is fun! A lot of fun.
I think the reason why I love it so much is that I spent too much time watching things like Meitantei Conan and other murder mystery stuff. There are just so much clichés, it was about time someone made fun of them.

Started off promising but after a while the jokes/satire got a little tiring, Shota's character was quite good though, at only 8 episodes may be worth a watch for at least the first 4.

Quite funny. Not only does it poke fun at the detective genre, but also has a bit of fun with the viewers. May have ruined watching other, more serious, detective shows for me (haha).

This drama was ok, I like the unique-ness of the characters breaking character and talking about themsselves, but I'm still waiting for the rest of the series to be subbed.
