1. Not Awesome, but still Good [Rating: 7/10]
Naguru Onna was an Ok drama. Although Ifm sure Wakui Emi is a solid actress, she didnft quite pull me in. I thought she was convincing and definitely fit her character, but she didnft interest me. Fukihoshi Mitsuru on the other handc! What a presence! I was completely convinced that he was a boxer and I felt his hardships through his actions!

Although the plot was liner and seemed predictable, the outcome of these predictions was never quite accurate, which I really liked. The love that blossomed between the two main characters was subtle and so, when it finally happened, it was believable.

This drama is enjoyable to watch, even if you donft like boxing. However, in the forum of sport-related dramasc well, itfs no Pride.

I bought this because I am a big Wakui fan. It showed a lot of the obstacles that boxers face. It also shows the single minded dedication you have to have to be even relatively sucessful. It has a lot of funny incidents surrounding Wakui being a trainer to Tuko san (did great job of the guy who gave up everythig to be a boxer, and he is not really that good)

Recipe for a perfect dorama: take two great leads (Wakui Emi is simply to die for, here...and I guess Fukikoshi Mitsuru will have the same effect on the female audience), add some very good supporting actors (Amami Yuki and Ono Takehiko most of all, but everyone else also does a good job), mix everything with a nice, light and entertaining plot and most of all with lots and lots of witty and überfunny dialogues, give everything that unmistakable, unbeatable 90's flavor, and finally serve: the viewers will appreciate. Now, I can't speak for everyone else, of course, but believe me, THIS viewer was delighted from the very first minute to the very last! Perfect 10/10! :)

I enjoyed this very much. Even though there was no really dramatic development, I really like watching the two leads living and training and facing their various challenges together. Wakui Emi was very cute without overacting, and all the characters were all likeable. Amami Yuki was really good too even though her supporting role was rather minor. The boxing scenes look authentic and the boxer (the male lead) was great for his role. Wakui Emi and he (forgot his name) had a great rapport and understanding together, their scenes look so natural and fun to watch.

Pretty standard boxing drama but Wakui was great and an excellent supporting cast as well.
