Due to an accident inwhich she was involved, Sano loses his ability to jump. Unable to bear the guilt of causing his smile to fade, Mizuki decides to follow him to Japan and find a way to make him jump again. However, a certain problem pops up... Sano attends an all-boys private school, and the only way to get near him would be to enrole as a student there!

1. BEWARE! A super disappointing series [Rating: 6/10]
After months of waiting, I finally was able to finish this series. I will write this review in fairness to those who have read the manga first and have been disappointed by the series (just like me.. T_T) And this review might be a little longer because I want to justify and defend the manga.

1. Seriously, this drama sucks for the fact that although it was hilarious and funny, it didn't even reach half the goodness, cuteness and romance that is unselfishly provided by the manga.

2. Almost ALL of the characters are de-characterized, meaning that the actors/actresses didn't portray the original characters.
i.e.
Ashiya Mizuki - original character: sweet, determined, friendly
character in the series: dull

Sano Izumi - original character: introvert but soft-hearted character in the series: snob, unreasonable

Nakatsu Shuiichi - o.c.: baka but pure-hearted, selfless
character in the series: short-tempered and although selfless, it didn't even reach half of the goodness of Nakatsu that was in the manga

Minami Senpai - o.c: cool, manly
character in the series: sooo uncool!

well, anyway, you got the idea

3. And although the series did a good job of making Nakatsu really look 'baka', that was all what the series really can offer.

What suddens me most about this series is the fact that there almost aren't any romantic moments between Shun and Maki which is in contrast with the manga that is almost hearty and flowery. I especially hate the way they made Sano look heartless (grrr...) and all the characters look dumb.

Anyway, the bottom line is this is a totally disappointing, let-down series. I'm being totally graciousfor giving this a 6.

2. Far better than expected, it makes you laugh! [Rating: 9/10]
This dorama was far better than I expected. It is the second one (the first one was My Boss My Hero) that actually made me laugh, mainly thanks to the incredibly funny Nakatsu's monologues; he is the best character of the series, and I laughed out loud watching him so worried and confused about his sexual orientation. The doctor was terrific too (and I loved his blue contact lenses!). Another great thing is how they put these weird paranormal things in between taking for granted that they are absolutely normal XD

Although there's a love triangle bewteen Mizuki (who was too nosy, and girlish too, mainly because of her voice, but she acted really nice as a guy), Sano (too reserved and complex for my taste) and Nakatsu (simply great!), episodes are not only focused on it, but there are side stories that although a bit repetitive (and somehow confusing at times), are really nice to see. I had a great time watching this one!

PS: Two really good surprises:
- 1st, Inagaki Goro as a teacher. I've never watched any of his doramas yet.
- And 2nd (the best one) is in minute 59-60 of the Special, when they are talking about Nakatsu playing soccer with Nakatsu's mother, and you can see a guy wearing a FCB (Futbol Club Barcelona - Barça!!) t-shirt!! You can even read 'CAMP NOU' (that's the stadium name) on it!! This was recorded on 2008... On 2009 we won 6 cups in a row!!! (being the first team in the world to achieve this!!). Wow!! n_____n

3. I LOVE YOU NAKATSU!!! [Rating: 8/10]
I found this drama extremely entertaining and really fun all the way through. Although itfs rather ridiculous in more ways than one, it was still great.

The concept isnft original and at times I was like gWHAT?!h when something bizarre would happen (I mean really, how can you NOT NOTICE THAT SHEfS A GIRL?!). But regardless of all this the drama was still grand and had a lot of priceless moments. Horikita Maki managed to remain kawaii even with the lack of makeup, and although I didnft find the guys in the drama as good-looking as the reputation of their school suggests, they were still quite fun and entertaining to watch. My favourite by far was Nakatsu (Ikuta Toma). Ifm not sure if I would have enjoyed this drama as much without him in it. Oguri Shun was grand in this role but he was often outshone by either Nakatsu, or some of the other male characters such as Nanba-senpai (Mizushima Hiro), Kayashima (Yamamoto Yusuke), Masao (Kyou Nobuo), Tennouji (Ishigaki Yuma), and even Hibari (Iwasa Mayuko), who was the female equivalent and was absolutely hilarious.

I really hope there is a second season. Although the storyline was average, the plot was great and there were a lot of grand moments throughout the drama.

4. ikuta toma is a jdorama GOD! [Rating: 9/10]
now, i would have rated this dorama a flat 7, reason being the fact that sano and mizuki's relationship is not that interesting. But, thank god for nakatsu! lol he is the saviour of this jdorama! he IS hanazakari no kimitachi e he was the best part of it. i loved his character and i thought he was a better choice for mizuki and even though he wasnt the protagonist i enjoyed watching him more than any other character in the series. ikuta toma portrayed the role of nakatsu amazingly, i have seen other doramas with toma in them and this is by far the best of them all, his love for mizuki is unconditional, (he was even willing to accept homosexuality for mizuki) he's there for her from day 1 and is loyal to her. I thought that he would have been a much better pair for her. if the series would have ended up with mizuki picking nakatsu over sano then this would have received a perfect 10 from me, but because of the fact that mizuki goes for sano, who i am not against at all, he was great character and all but i just didnt see him caring as much for mizuki as nakatsu did, that is the only reason this series is a 9 but besides that ITS A GREAT AND HILARIOUS DORAMA A MUST WATCH FOR ALL DORAMA LOVERS!

5. Funny, Stupid and Highly Enjoyable [Rating: 8/10]
Being another random drama i chose for no apparent reason, this drama was fantastic! The characters are funny and relatable although sometimes you do go a bit over the top but all Japanese dramas do that though. Having being in boarding for 3 years it really brought back memories and the feeling of the relationships and 'rumour control' where spot on. Locations suited and lines were good, nothing legendary but what can you expect of something with the name 'Ikemen Paradise'...

Maki does a great job as the main character and has cemented my love for her as my fav female drama actor :D Shun does a good job and well, is himself really... i have only ever seen his play acts where his 'too cool' mainly because he does them well so yeah, he did well. Two actors that stood out for me where Toma and Yusuke, i've never seen them before but i thought they did really well in this drama and i want to watch more with either of them in it! Casting was great and i thought they all worked well together, like a real boarding school.

Highly recommended and should make most people who watch it laugh alot, don't expect anything deep or heavy though :D

6. Brilliant start, boring ending [Rating: 7/10]
I have never read the manga before so I can't even begin to compare it with it. Ikuta Toma is the real star of the show with the energy and exuberance he brings to the show; Nakatsu monologues are perhaps the best part of the show. Sano Izumi (Oguri Shun) is brooding and boring and is hardly appealing as the main male lead of the show. While Horikita Maki is a great actress, her character Ashiya Mizuki is just so nosy and plods on trying to get Sano to jump again with such selfish determination it is just hard to watch. It is also disappointing to see Kimura Ryo in yet another pretty-boy homo-type role. The show started off with a bang; full of comedic moments and laughter, but it kind of loses steam towards the end and the last episode was a total drag. The way Ashiya shows her true feelings so easily in front of Sano despite pretending being a boy also makes it rather unbelievable, plus the fact that there is little chemistry between the two. And while the tagline is 'Ikemen Paradise', don't be fooled... A solid 7 for Ikuta's excellent acting and the good amount of silliness and fun only for the first part of the show.

7. Side characters and side plot more interesting... [Rating: 6/10]
I wont lie, I honestly think half of the reason I liked this drama is because of the eye candy (guilty as charged), because other then that there isn't much to it. Honestly, if it wasn't for Nakatsu (Ikuta Toma did a PHENOMENAL job) I don't think people would like the drama as much as they do. The two main characters never really spark as people I want to care about and cheer for. Sano annoyed me, and when the big reveal for Mizuki came at the end of the series I didn't really care. I connected more with side characters than anything. I also thought the side plot of the growing relationship between the dorms and the dorm leaders more interesting than the main plot which is to get Sano to jump again.

However, this drama really does have it's sweet and funny moments. It did get a laugh or two out of my, and my heart did break for Nakatsu, and I rooted for Nakao-san and my other favorite side characters.

Would I watch it again? Probably not. I would recommend it if you wanted something light to watch and want some eye candy (I'm shameless).

8. so funny and cute [Rating: 10/10]
For me, this was a breath of fresh air! I loved how they allowed themselves to be silly with this drama. This really reminds me of the silliness that is often seen in anime. Even though I am not a big Anime fan myself, my brother is (he joined me in watching this). He said he would never watch a drama, but he loved this one as much as I did.

The story is funny and very cute! I loved all the characters. But it's not too silly that you can't take it seriously. It still has a love story behind it.

CONTAINS SPOILER:
I didn't cry once all though the drama.. until it finished! The ending made me tear so much. But not for the main characters! No! it was for nakatsu.. he grew so close to mizuki!! This has one of those endings that I hate and love at the same time.. I wish everyone could be happy xD but then again, I like it when it's not always fairytale like.

GREAT DRAMA.. watch with an open mind ^^

9. Yawn worthy. Only saving grace is Ikuta Toma. [Rating: 4/10]
The good stuff:

The first half was stronger than the second half.
Ikuta Toma stood out from everyone. He portrayed his character very well.
The theme is very catchy. I quite liked it.

Why didn't I like it that much? I don't know what it is exactly. I think it's because of the actress. I didn't really care much for her at all. I thought she was too pretty as a boy. She didn't pass off as guy, unlike the actress in the Taiwanese version. When they discovered her sexuality, I was hoping they'd expel her.

If it wasn't for Nakatsu, I wouldn't have kept on watching this. He's the only reason why I forced myself to finish this drama. The script was average, but if the chemistry between the two leads had been there, I would have liked this more. Ashiya and Sano had ZERO chemistry.

Hana kimi is your typical, One-pretty-girl-hundreds-of-hot-boys drama. One of Horikita's best dramas, as I say so myself. She did good in AND, Nobuta wo produce, Kurosagi, and Innocent love. Oguri Shun had a diferrent character here... Referring to his BD drama... But slightly similar to HYD, slightly. It was one of the few dramas that got me interested, so I think higly of it. Ikuta toma was cute here. :)) And was he really in HYD? Junpei doesnt ring a bell. :)) I'm sorry for forgetting bout' yah, Ikuta. :))

12. Entertaining :) [Rating: 8/10]
Maybe it doesn't follow the manga and maybe the situations are a bit put on, but it's still a lovable series. For me all the characters play their parts in progressing and (sometimes regressing) the show. The fact the series was sometimes over the top was the appeal for me. (i.e. when all the guys bring blankets for Sano. Or Masao---well being himself.) It's pretty lighthearted and silly so if you're feeling down or you just want to watch something to unwind I think you'll enjoy it too.

maki horikita still look like a girl. when i watch the taiwanese vers, i completely forgot that ella-the main character's real name- is a girl. she's so into it. maybe the image that they bring before the series, infuenced it. ella is well known as a tomboy in real life, while maki's image is feminine. but the boys are hotter in japan vers.

Ok i have to admit I watched Hana Kimi because of Shun Oguri, he is one of my japanese dream boys, a real ikemen. And I heard a lot about Maki Horikita too. If Hana Kimi the taiwanese version made me laugh my ass off LMAO, Hana Kimi japanese version made me LOL and cry as well. It was ikemen paradise alright with all those hotties and whew I fell in love with Hiro Mizushima as Nanba-sempai. The story line was impeccable, trust these manga authors to come up with a superb implausible story that becomes reality. Now in real life can a girl masquerading as a boy really get away with it in an all boys high school? No way! I loved all the characters and how they developed. And the ending was superb , just the right touch of maudline to make me cry and smile again. Maki Horikita was the cutest boy in the series, Shun Oguri as Sano gave the role the right amount of freeze as the unemotional star jumper has-been, Toma Ikuta was cute and funny enough as Nakatsu ( but I have to admit at the risk of getting pelted by tomatoes that Jiro Wong was funnier in the same role but in a slap stick way)Nanba-sempai essayed by Hiro was the hottest chick boy in the Osaka High. Lol I love this guy, he looks like a sexy angel, if ever there is one. And Kyou Nobuo ( I can't believe he was Ren in Nana2, it was a complete make-over as a sexy rocker!)as dorm leader Oscar cracked me up, he was really funny and pretty as a woman although he looked older than the rest of the hotties. Wonder if there will be a Part 2?

This is one of the very few high school setting dramas that I've found really enjoyable to watch. The casting for the part of Horikita Maki for Ashiya Mizuki was perfect for this series - she pulled off the part of being a guy very well from the way she walked to the way she sat. It was hilarious, but very well done. I really liked the other two characters, too. Sano (Oguri Shun) and Nakatsu (Ikuta Toma) worked well, I especially liked Nakatsu's character. I felt that Oguri Shun was acting the same way as he always does in all the dramas I've seen him in, aloof and the object of a girl's affection. In other dramas this type of character works well, but I think the character of Sano in the manga was a little more open and laid back.

The storyline centers around Mizuki who wants to help Sano do the long jump again since she was the one who caused his injury to the leg. There are a lot of hilarious scenarios especially between Mizuki and Nakatsu who is fighting his feelings for Mizuki since he doesn't know she's a she.

Overall this drama was highly entertaining and I highly recommend it. The ending was pretty cute and I felt satisfied with it.

The dramas just finished airing a couple minutes ago but that`s the time I needed to gather my thoughts after this extremely moving 2H SP ending.

I started (and finished) reading this manga many years ago and was quite happy to see it would be adapted into a drama (especially with Oguri Shun and Ikuta Toma who have been somke of my favorites actors for years.. especially both in stage plays).

I was a bit dissapointed about the major changes of the story (why Mizuki went to Japan, how Sano finds out, how Nakatsu finds out and others, the lack of the sexual tension between Sano-Mizuki that is ever so present in the manga...) but in the overall balance, this still proved to be the one drama I was eagerly waiting for every week. The cast of actors were all interesting and it truly turned out to be a gem!

This is one that I will watch again and I highly recommend it. The ending had me crying too! ^^

The first Jdorama I watch 3 times without bored or stress. Simply funny and hilarious! I love everything about this drama...the actors, actress, storyline (even some of it unbelievable), the song..everything! But Shun..he looks so ordinary here. I still prefer him in Summer Snow~~Maki is very good as Ashiya..but sometimes she is too kawaii to be a boy..hahaha :) ~~But there is something much more important~~90% strength of this drama come from Nakatsu Shuici. And Ikuta Toma did a very good job as Nakatsu. I think each scene of Toma makes me fresh and fun watching this drama. Such a new star born here in HanaKimi..I can't imagine if there is someone else act as Nakatsu. Toma and Nakatsu really have a chemistry and I love it!~~To the jdorama fanz out there, you must watch this drama!

Wow, this drama is superb! Such an amazing show and highly addicting to the end! Oguri, Ikuta, Mizushima, Horikita, and Kimikawa did really well in their roles! I am sure hope to see more of them in the future. I find HanaKimi is on my top list of favorite drama along with Hana Yori Dango. I was having a hard time which guy would be best for Ashita, Sano or Nakatsu? It was tough, because I love both Oguri and Ikuta, they did fantastic portraying such intense emotions, personality, and humorous characters.
Oh, the dorm rooms in the show are awesome looking ever!! Why, can't American come up with something like that??! Such a space conserver! Having a mini room upstairs, directly below is a mini kitchen/dining/shower, and the rest of the open area is also the second room along with hardwood floor and study area. Way better than the ones we have here is just one room.. TT^TT

well i guess 7.5 because i love oguri shun even though he seriously doesn't do much in this drama...for some reasons, i feel that Nakatsu gets even more scenes than Sano...not that i'm complaining because i love Toma and i'm glad this drama opens a door for him. Horikita Maki is good, but somehow, she is not very believable as a guy...appearance wise. it must be hard for her to learn the guy's speech and i give her lots of credit for that. The drama itself is quite funny bordering slapstick and annoyingly over the top. At times i feel that the jokes are repetitive...esp the scenes between all the dorm students and their "rivalry". I don't see much of character development for any of the characters which is disappointing. Overall, I enjoyed it enough (who wouldn't? it's literally an ikemen paradise) but it's not the best drama out there

SUPER NICE DRAMA!!!! THe feeling after watching this drama is like the feeling after watching gokusen!!! Btw,gokusen is one of my FAVOURITE DRAMAS!! XD. SUPER great cast. I'm so glad toma got chosen as Nakatsu and im so glad he's slowly coming up. I really want him to be better than yamapi(after yamapi left fourtops for newS and left toma alone and thus, cannot form a singing group..).. .In this drama,i love so many of the character.....toma(of course),Sekine and the leader of dorm 2. The story line is great, the school uniform is so pretty and made them look even hotter, their school looks awesome...looks like some mansion, the room design is also awesome with the double story room rather than a double dacker bed and ...even the colour of the drama is nice! You all should watch it! You won't regret it :)

HanaKimi was hilarious! It was crazy and silly and I enjoyed almost every minute of it! Sure, the premise was ridiculous. Yeah, it was kind of lame how they kept finding excuses to put the boys in women's clothing. But you just have to love it! Oguri Shun has come so far as an actor. He's really great. But I especially enjoyed Ikuta Toma as the zany, totally-not-gay Nakatsu! Horitaka Maki deserves praise because, by the end of the series, I was starting to wonder myself if she was really a boy. But, in the end, my favorite was Yamamoto Yusuke as Kayashima Taiki! He was adorable! I hope to see him in more dramas in the near future. Now all we need is a Hanazakari no Kimitachi e ~Ikimen in California Paridise~ special!

I started out not liking this due to the dramatic changes from the manga but was surprised at how heart warming it eventually turned out to be. This series puts a lot of emphasis on the side characters which makes the whole schoolmate atmosphere a lot more touching. The 3 main characters, Mizuki, Sano and Nakatsu were great in their roles too, with Nakatsu overshadowing the others due to the funny performance put in by Ikuchi Toma. Even then some of the side-character plot is overused which does make this series suffer due to lack of main plot.
Otherwise it is a fun ride with a closure begging for an SP.
Soundtrack is catchy too and if you like the series, it is recommended

Zoom and then poof (originally reviewed by shari, but he's hit the bullseye...but I don't think Horikita is a miscast, rather this is one of the few fitting roles for her. You actually see that Horikita performed the acting as a boy a bit forced and shameful, but this is adding credibility)
"The first few episodes shoot like a super-charged train riding on a nice premise with a stream of good comedy and inspired scenes. But the story soon derails under the weight of endless fillers that go from repetitious to irritating with a mob of sexually disoriented loonies on steroids. The chemistry between the ever-brooding Oguri and the miscast Horikita never produces sparks."

Great casting all around--Nakutsu and the doctor are especially wonderful!! The boys are always at their best in high school dramas (duh), and the music gets really catchy at key moments. Anyway, Horitaka Maki makes an adorable enough boy (although you'd think her voice ought to be WAY more well-disguised). This series gets an 8/10 because I really can't stand live action Dorm 3. >_< Plus, the drama makes the sexual tension seem even more contrived than in the manga. Still, it is fascinating to watch Maki and think, "Is there any way she could actually pass as a boy?" This is one series you shouldn't miss if you are any kind of a fan of gender-bender comedies.
12. Comments by hummer [Rating: 8/10]
The cast was pretty talented, all in all, but maybe they could have chosen another girl who could have passed for a guy better... Don't get me wrong, the girl did great, but I think her face is too feminine to be believable mistaken as a guy's. Anyway, the series is funny and light-hearted, and they managed to alter the story a little bit so that Mizuki doesn't seem so much like a stalker. However, there were some moments when some of the wacky/silly scenes seem too forced and fake. The big selling point of the drama is of course, its wonderful casts, but you don't need my saying that. It was a very satisfactory drama with a so-so ending.

Well well well
I really like boys-school dramas. I also love Oguri Shun and Ikuta Toma. And In nobuta wo produce I also loved Horikita Maki, however I didnt love her in this drama. In my personal opinion someone else could have played her role much better. The drama itself was too dramatic in a lot of scenes and mostly its a drama where all you've been waiting for happens in the last seconds of it. So emotionally it brings the rating down, what still gives it a high rate is the humor. I laughed so much during this, and it was probably those scenes that makes it recommendable

(Oh and not to mention, its very cute!)

Ok so there were some things I really loved about this dorama and there were other things that I wasn't so keen on.
I was happy with the overall arc of the story though I feel that due to it's tendency to veer off from the original story, it wasn't as smooth as it could have been.
Maki and Shun were really cute together as Sano and Ashiya but their chemistry had nothing on that of the characters in the manga. In fact I think that the chemistry seemed stronger between Nakatsu and Ashiya.
Saying that I was still happy with how it ended so I'm not going to complain ^___^

I found this drama to be insanely fun. It's very easy to tell it's based off a manga so if you hate anime/manga it's not for you. I think it was a bit fast paced, but a lot of manga based dramas are. The acting was overall very good and the casting seemed quite good. I really enjoyed Ikuta Toma as Nakatsu. He was hysterical. The other cast was very well done but as mentioned, the characters are very manga-esque. Fun plot, great cast and super funny! Oh and you can see Ishigaki Yuma's glorious man-boobs!
16. Comments by dokaben [Rating: 6/10]
Fun and watchable, but not a drama I'd put in my top ten. The plot thread involving Mizuki, Sano, and Nakatsu kept me watching, but I found the dorm competitions to be repetitive and unfunny. (I actually started flipping through them after hearing "Baby!" for the 10th time...) Aside from the three leads and Umeda (school nurse) I didn't feel any real attachment to the other characters at the end. I'd say it's worth watching for the leads and the interesting way it touches on ideas of love and gender.
17. Comments by lastcalendargirl [Rating: 8/10]

I GASM OVER THIS DRAMA. The cast.. Hiro..Oh dear gawd I love Hiro.....

Hana Kimi is about a girl who dresses as a boy to attend an all-boys high school, to get her idol to return to high jump. I was wishing there would be more of a love triangle, but I was satisfied enough with Oguri Shun (Sano) and Ikuta Toma (Nakatsu) having a mini battle of Horikita Miki (Mizuki). The ending was a little satisfying... I suppose... but all good things come to an end. *sigh*
19. Comments by michiru3 [Rating: 6/10]
Other than seeing all the pretty boys interacting, the story's pretty disappointing. I don't root for Horita Maki's Mizuno and she's not very likable. It's hard to see why Natasku would like her. Sadly, Oguri's way too brooding and coming off as a spoiled brat more than an introvert =( It's been 2 months and I was only able to stomach watching 4 eps...but I must continue!! I need to see the ending. I hope at least the pretty boys will keep me enticed.
20. Comments by Daichi Kai [Rating: 8/10]
A little bit bright for something that very mainstream...
Still nice though, just that the ending is very disappointing, with everyone cried only to find that they'll meet her again in the school vacation...
Many interesting comical acts during the film played, and surely although can't be compared to Nodame, still close to it...
IF only the cast are bit repaired...
Selling only cute face, doesn't work in some cases...
I still like it though...

Oh god this drama is sooo hilarious and one of the top must watch dramas in 2007. Although Horikita Maki looks NOTHING like a boy, it's still enjoyable to watch her sit with her legs apart when the boys cross their legs. Oguri Shun, as usual, potrays the quiet brooding hero flawlessly. My applause however, goes to Nobuo Kyou as Oscar "Don't call me Masao" Himejima, who never failed to crack me up whenever he makes an appearance. Luv u OSCAR!!!

Amazing! Totally crazy....every episdoe is fully of joy and everytime I fell from my chair because it's funny as hell _-_
The whole cast is too likeable so you can't avoid loving them all *___* and even Toma got likeable to me finally. XD"
You really have to watch this if you love comedy doramas...*___*
It's a totally must seen!
And I don't have to mention that Oguri-san also made his job great, ne? XD Because he always does *chu* <3

I never did watch the anime or read the manga for this, but I love this television series. It has a very strong cast of characters who all play their parts wonderfully. It is a very character-driven story, but in the best way. This is one of the funnier series I have watched and at times it nearly had me rolling on the floor. However, it has its series moments as well and those are also well done. A great series, all-around.

The first five episodes were entertaining and enjoyable to watch, but the later episodes became lame and similar to the first five. I enjoyed Ikuta Toma as Nakatsu Shuichi. His played his part well. I also enjoy his character. I can see his love for Mizuki. Mizuki love for Sano, and vice verse was not apparent through body language and actions, just by verbal expressions. I skipped episodes 6, 7, etc and scanned the finale.

I must say this drama was really the first j-drama that I REALLY watched. And i've been hooked on j-dramas ever since 2007 because of Hana Kimi. If you really want to have fun just watch this...don't mind about the plot..just go with the flow..watch have fun with their crazy and anime-ish antics, and dont forget to enjoy the ost:) i owe this show a lot!
Maki, Oguri Shun, Toma, Shirota Yu, Mizushima Hiro i love you all!

Utterly funny and a must have for everyone who loves to see characters who are absolutely nuts! XD I really loved how the story staid funny until the end and didn't switch into a total serious/sad state even though it wasn't only funny and had it's serious moments after all. I loved all these great characters and had my fun with the main characters as well as the side-characters. Really well done! ^_^ Don't miss it!

It was hilarious and I watched it at least two times so far. :) There were some parts where things just seemed over exaggerated or ridiculously obvious - but that's what you get for watching a comedy! Overall, though, it's a great look at Hana Kimi (I have watched the Taiwanese version multiple times as well) and a fresh twist. Right after I finished the series, I watched it again. :) I highly recommend it!
28. Comments by strawberrynkiwi [Rating: 8/10]
I read the manga and watched the Taiwanese version and I was very much attached to the relationship between Sano and Mizuki. That is why the Japanese version was quite a disappointment to me. The comedy between the dorms was very entertaining, but I just wish there was more romance. I mean as much as friendship is important, the story is kinda bout SANO&MIZUKI. Other than that, props to Toma (Nakatsu)!
29. Comments by nishishi [Rating: 6/10]
Good actors.. good soundtrack... nice scenarios... but a lame plot.

Eventough it has its original concepts the plot is pretty obvious... they could have pulled something much better from that idea... Anways... its enjoable but (easily) forgettable.... But i gotta admitt that some parts of this show r really funny. Hana Kimi is worth watching if u r looking for some cheap laughs and nothing much deep.

If you only had time to watch one more drama, I'd have to say, make it this one. Hana-Kimi is laugh-out-loud funny, and Nakatsu (especially portrayed by the excessively talented Ikuta Toma) is a character you just have to meet! This drama may not be perfectly executed, and it's not exactly an accurate adaptation of the manga, but it's so funny that its flaws can be forgiven. How I long for more episodes!

THIS IS THE BEST OF THE BESTS EVER!!
It is totally awesome!! The actors and actresses are great and they suit their characters very well!! Also, the script is thought-changing that I ought to remember the words each character say!! Moreover, the effects are incredible...the focus of the lights, the arrangement of the musics used!! Above all, the story itself is brilliant changing many person's life, like me,in an extraordinary way!!I assure you,you won't regret watching this!! It is..............................

A very interesting drama to begin with! Even though they made some changes, the fluffness of Sano and Mizuki is really, KAWAII AND SUGOI! haha. The actors are really talented, especially the three main characters- Oguri Shun, Horikita Maki and Ikuta Toma. They inspired me so much, so I will write an article about them in our schoolpaper to advertise them! hahaha... kyaaa, Sano Izumi x Ashiya Mizuki forver! hahaha....

"Ikemen Paradise"? Who doesn't want that? With a balance of cool, dashing men and average-looking guys, this drama does not only tackle about having guys all over the place---it's about friendship and reaching your goal no matter what. Pretty boy Ashiya Mizuki, played by Horikita Maki, is definitely a fresh character. The dog, Yuujiro, deserve a bone too!
5. Feng Storm
i simply adore this drama because its full of funny situations, you never stop laughing, it will cheer you up, the relationships between three main characters is sometimes touching, sweet and sometimes you can feel that purity and depth of friendship ^.^ and i never get annoyed by it even if i watch it for 50th time.....its everlasting ^O^ >.<
6. nike_girl
I love this drama. I like Maki when she become tomboy. Although her hair is short, she's so kawaii....Hontoni.Hehehe. From this drama i start notice Ikuta Toma. His role is much better than Shun. I dont said that i dont like shun but in this movie his role not so effective. Also lots of good looking people in this movie. Daisuki....
7. amekoi
With a touchy-feel of a Japanese private school, "Hana-Kimi", as it is fondly called, does not only revolve around the gender-bender lead-role Ashiya Mizuki but also the lives of the men studying in Osaka Gakuen. With heartfelt issues and the essence of friendship strongly implied, this drama marks a good spot in this millennium.
8. gluttonestpalaka
cute ,inspiring and one funny drama .. i even cried.. overall a great highschool drama .. oguri shun ,ikuta toma and horikita maki portrayed their roles well, oguri looked cool, toma was very funny, horikita maki was a bit girly in the drama because in the manga ashiya mizuki was girly too .a must-watch rama... :D
9. joychin
This is the kind of drama whereby no matter how many times you watch it,somehow, you will still enjoy it XD. IT IS SOOOO GOOD!! Great soundtrack....seriously,great cast....TOMA!!,wonderful storyline and super duper funny too! The dog in it is SOO adorable too! If you're a jdrama fan, this drama is a must to watch!

my friend insisted that i should watch this drama so i did and i found it very weird. but in a good way. the story is here and there and everywhere and although everything is so confusing, you still end up amused and satisfied. i want to go to ohsaka high..seems like so much fun fighting with the other dorms.
11. Amber
It is just great!!! It is hilarious, (really!) has a great plot and i even watched it three times. Even a friend of mine watched it and she was not interested in Japan and loves it.
I think hana kimi is one of the doramas that offers something for everyone. So iu really highly recommend it, watch it!
12. Gork
This was such a funny/cute/awesome drama! I especially loved all the guys in it!!! My faves were Nakatsu (Toma~!!), Sano (Oguri is cute!) and all the dorm heads (Nanba!) ^_^ Maki was great as Mizuki too, she is so kawaii. Great cast and lots of fun! I laughed alot! ^_^ Hope there is a SP soon!
13. xEternal
So funny, and so many hot guys! HAHA.

The cast consisted of several good actors and many many funny parts especially with Nakatsu <3;;

I love the story, but unfortunately there's no season two! I hope they'd reconsider making another season, I really look forward to more Hana Kimi!
14. antownia
Hana Kimi was one of the funniest dramas I've ever watched. It both embodied the manga and made it its own (although some of the provisions made, I admit, did not really enthuse me) to make it work for the medium used (ie - television). It was funny without sacrificing the drama. :)
15. missind33
I read the manga and I didn't like the series too much, but watching the live drama, I loved it 10 times more! The cast was amazing, (I became an official Toma fangirl after watching this), this series was fantastic, and essential series to watch on every J-Drama fan's list!
16. japanezejade
I love the whole story. I love the tandem of the 3 great artists namely Ikuta Toma, Horikita Maki and Shun Oguri.. I also love the OST of this JDorama. Definitely the best. ^_^ And it is going to end here in the Philippines today. I hope everyone will watch!
17. uchijin
It was so enjoyable and entertaining. The drama focuses more on humor, and it delivers it well. All the students were unique and entertaining in their own way, and I thoroughly enjoyed it... except for the fact that they portrayed Sano as a complete jerk.
18. someonethatsno1
was so funny!! all the guys in the dorms were hilarious and when nakatsu was thinking.. so funny always pacing around like crazy. good story, but i wish it was a bit longer, and according to the ending they BETTER make some special or something
19. aiscess
This is definitely MY FAVE dorama for this year. It's been so long since I laughed so much in watching a dorama, natsukashii na~ Anyways, this dorama cracks me everytime I watched it especially Oscar's scenes and the rest of the Ikemen.
20. ziliey
This one had me laughing at every single episode!!!
I love the chemistry between all the dorm members.. It all works so well even if the plot is far fetched.. At the end you cant help but fall in love with the drama and cast members!!
21. KJjap
Soo funny! I watched ALL Hana Kimi episodes over and over again a thousand times. I never get enough of it! Always makes me smile, even when I'm feeling down.
Great performance of Toma, Maki and of course the legendary Oguri Shun!
22. chibichan
definitely vote for it. This dorama is one of the reason why i love japan doramas so much. The funny, silly, goofy things in this dorama make want to watch it more and more (i watch it 3 times already).
23. un3xpectedfate
This is one of the best dramas I've watched. It was so funny and I like how they changed parts from the manga to make it a different story. I couldn't get enough of the crazy activities the dorms held.
24. beryl_28
One of the funniest Japanese drama I have watched! Somehow, the film managed to make an unrealistic plot work and brought much laughter to the audiences watching it. Ikuta Toma rocked in the dorama! (:

I love Maki Horikita in here, She's so amazing. I can't wait for more in Hana Kimi SP and hoping for a season 2. Also can't wait for more Nakatsu's imagination.<3

the supporting cast steals the show, but that doesn't mean the leads were bad. many hilarious moments. this show has raised my hopes for the future of jdoramas.
