Was driving near Cisco HQ in SJ and spotted what is perhaps the last remaining orange grove in SJ, which had me remembering days in Southern California.

You know you're old when... Mr Green

You can remember when there were orange groves in Orange County!

you cannot take excitement.
you cannot take coffee.
you get more and more the feeling of laziness when you are not lazy in the first place.

when you remember old electronics were at a much higher price than they are today.

like the VCR/VHS was $500 when it first came out and nowadays it is only selling for $70.

I don't remember how much they were. I bought mine for $200. Now stores are giving them away it seems. Don't get me started about the cost of computers. I found some old ads in magazines while I was cleaning up. The first "portable" notebooks were around $3000-4000. (Note the quotations. They were still bricks)

I think my dad had one of those VCRs. It actually worked up until a couple of years ago. Solid piece of equipment by Panasonic. You had to exert some force to push the play button.

My dad still has one of those early VCR Camcorders where it is a Giant video camera and you have to haul around the entire VCR with a great big battery attached. Must weigh 60 lbs.

VCRs cost $70 USD????? Wow, that's pretty steep--because you can get DVD/VCRs for just a few more 10s! I could get a VCR for $20 USD easy. Or less, if it didn't look snazzy, I'm sure!!!
