girls!!
i think i watched it 2 times already now... haha!
ok, it did surpass my expectations!... with jun, as usual... i think he improved on his acting too yay!
i think it's blown the twnese mg to god knows which solar system... and the manga can go to the longkang (drain) as well (i hate both). thank god for the short 9 eps format! kowtow to the japanese!
it's so direct straight to the point and they've taken out all the extra soppy, irritating bits and sort of compacted to something where i can focus on a reasonable storyline.
but coz i sort of know the story, i really hope domyoji keeps to this sort of personality instead of turning into some irritating wimp in the later eps....
and gacktsama dear, since we all sort of 'grew up' with the real jun, we know he can't even strangle a chicken with all his nail polish . but i think his acting as domyoji sort of won me over to concentrate on the character itself instead of jun jun jun.
so, personally, i think it was very successfully done. and thank god they hired a better fighting coordinator than those cheap gokusen stunts (i was kind of skeptical at first)! whew!
and oguri shun, well, portrays his character really well.
but thank god really that jun didn't get that rui part, coz i just realized he wouldn't have much to do other than acting shin all over again... (cool, suave, reticent) whew... domyoji is a much more challenging character ne!
and at first, i thought hyd was gonna be an awful next step for jun in his career, but i change my mind now, seeing that domyoji actually can give jun space to grow and 'practice' more on other personality aspects!
overall, maybe i'm biased, but i think jun as domyoji was the most outstanding/memorable character/actor, followed by shun (but somehow i find him kind of dull, just me maybe...). i'm still not so sure about the lead girl though. she's a good actress, but somehow, not exactly sparkling. maybe later eps will get better... as for the other 2 f4, one looks like a martian, one look like their unkle.
and ya, i love domyoji's mom! "stop it! light now!" i mean, she's great!
before i forgot, it's sho's 10th anniversary in johnny's today

be waiting for the next episode of hyd... kakkoi jun but kawaiii when he was smacked by inoue (err.. did i spell it right? ) gotta rewatch it again .... _________________

*hyperventilates* OMGOMGOMG Hana Yori Dango was AMAZING!!!!! I looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooved it!! WOWW!!
*SPOILERS*
OMG first of all... that opening sequence with them all in the school lobby (?) fooling around! And Rui's wink!!!! I think I died right there and then!
And just everything... WOW! And I really thought Jun was very convincing! AWESOME! And that look he had when she punched him! So cute!
I'm sooooooooo glad they cast Oguri Shun (my favorite japanese actor! [Jun doesn't count 'cause he sings AND acts]) as my favorite character in the manga! OMG I LOVE Rui! He's so awesome!!
It looks like they've spent a lot of money on this show... it's really grand and has beautiful sets.
OH! Did anyone else think "Harry Potter" upon hearing the music? lol.
OH and speaking of Music... I totally love WISH! It's so genki and fun!!
I could go on forever about this show! But alas, I'm sure you're all tired of my craziness by now and I have to start getting ready 'cause tonight is my Homecoming dance!! I can't wait for the next episode!!

lol, fybabe, i really hate to say "i told you so" but this time i really LOVE to say that to you.
i can remember the reaction you gave when you first heard that Jun was to act as Domyouji Tsukasa, i could hear your howls all the way to the planet pluto!!! i'm so glad that JUN's acting made u eat your words. besides i'm sure that knowing Jun's character he would not have taken on a role where he could not make it his own.
Domyouji's character is a great one. you'll get to watch him grow as a person as well. from a mean insecure bullying guy to one who knows his strength and loving his place in life.
also it may sound like a soap opera sort of drama, it is not, it's a great love story of 5 friends.
as for this version of HYD, i'm glad the directors have compacted it into a slick straight to the point storyline. with just a few scenes he has managed to tell the story unlike the other MG version which is really dragged out.
the song Wish by Arashi does fit into the drama, and i love it. so genki and upbeat. Planetarium by Otsuka Ai is a pretty good insert song.
So far my favorite scene is Jun beating the crap out of those gangsters and the one where Makino punches him. leaves me with a great feeling. ok, i'm on cloud nine at the moment after watching it for the umpteenth time, i hope the subs comes out real soon so i could confirm what i understood so far.
maybe i should have posted this on the HYD thread instead.

actually the beginning 10mins cracked me up all the way, coz it's HARRY FREAKING POTTER as background music!! i thought those CD, LV bags are gonna start talking to each other!
of course, i did notice this! i was like wtf? then lmao!
and jun still has his black toe nail polish on. vain baby!
probably thought "well...you guys only wanted nail polish off my fingers, hee hee hee..."
well, senpai, i was literally swept off my feet by jun's acting this time. i thought he's amazing!
my fav scenes are the same as yours.
love his expression before he beats the crap out of those gangsters on the road, and his vulnerable momo look on the floor at the end... gives domyoji a kawaii loveable edge right there!
hope the story doesn't go downhill from here...

Just finished watching HYD...i must say it was better than what i expected
and the girl who is acting as tsukushi was GOOD!!! they really chose the right person!! so far better than the taiwan's version JUn is good too (not being biased here) especially the part when he was punched by Tsukushi but the other 2 F2 (Nishikado Sojiro & Mimakasa Akira) are in my opinion..... Mimakasa is good looking but think he looks too mature to be a high school student
