if i remember correctly, the VCD version of their prior concerts were released for overseas fans, the reason for the vcd to be an overseas version.

if its an vcd, im pretty sure its an illegal copy.
also for the dvd,ive seen many fake dvds.
i think, j-storm made legal copies of concert dvds, in taiwan, and maybe singapore, but not anywhere else.

the problem about the japanese artists is that...........okay, well, they might be a little of a stuck up. sorry to say this, but if arashi had significant popularity in US, the jimusho might jump on to the business chance. but for the asian countries (except korea) i dont think they will actually bother making a big fuss about it.
its partly because of how much money they might get out of the business, and japanese tend to.......not care about other southeast asian countries.
for them, its probably like......oh so they have popularity? so what? lol

ive also heard arashi themselves say that they will rather become more popular in japan, even through they realize they do have fans overseas.

i think for arashi concerts, taiwan release only vcds with hardsub... not dvds, the dvds they sell are actually region 2 imported from japan.... u can really tell from the price and packaging if it is really original or pirated...

i agree with what u say about japanese artist (not only Arashi) cares MORE about the japanese market than any others.... well the mere fact that it is chooo hard to get into japanese market ( even for foreign artist )... considering how many albums / singles are release per week u can really see the competition among them....it really means survival... we should really be proud of the boys everytime their singles and albums hit no. 1 on oricon coz not all can make it that far.... and one thing that really caught my attention about Japanese people..... it is their patriotism ... they literally love their own country unlike... hmm....... Nut Sweat Nut Sweat Grumble

Minna minna!!! I discovered this good news while browsing around a chinese bbs.... oh, but since I don't understand Japanese, if someone here can confirm for me it would be great!! I don't want to give out fake hopes Beat You

I think Nino will be involved in a TBS SP that will be aired in March!! Right now they are looking for extras to film the drama (see link below) I saw his name mentioned, so I sure hope that means he is part of the cast!

http://www.welcome.city.yokohama.jp/film/extra.html#sukoshi
(scroll to the middle of the page, but here i don't see Nino's name mentioned beside the cast)

Anyone that understands Japanese, please help translate Bow

he is starring in the show. it is another drama based on true story about a young person with cancer.....touching and inspiring ....something like 1 littoru no namida
the drama was based on the mother's account of her child who has cancer.....can't remember what it was...something that affects the muscular system......read it in the news some time back...Nino is acting as the main character who has cancer

that was based on what I read long time ago

anyway for those of you who are in japan, you might want to sign up as the 'extras'...they are filming a few scene in one of the local schools..so chances are you might get to see Nino since he is supposed to be a student in the show

lots......i've seen almost all conert dvds of johhnys artists being illegaly sold. and the quality is pretty darn good.

neways,i just surfed yesasia, and i just wondered why the overseas version is so cheap. i know partly its due to the qualities of the cds they use (dvd and vcd) but i mean, theres a HUGE difference in the price.......
i really wonder if the product sell in yesasia are even legal as well.
i wonder if johnnys jimusho actually knows about this whole thing.
i cant believe that johhny kitagawa will sell dvds to foreign countries cheaper than in japan. (;p)

one reason i think this way is that, they never EVER say in japan that they released the dvd overseas.
IF the never say it, thats fine.
but txt is releasing their new single cds to china/taiwan, thailand and they are making a big fuss about it. like, i've seen it on tv wideshows (japanese gossip news programs) and on magazines.
i think, if the dvds were actually sold legally to overseas countries, the japaneses fans will know at least a little bit.
im sure the jaapnese ver of the dvd sold in yesasia is legal, but im not convinced that the overseas version is legal.

a(iba) no arashi = experiments

c(laim) no arashi = they were claim agents..

c(ontest)* no arashi = they have a contest? lol.

d(ocument) no arashi = documentry stuff.. sho had a little d no arashi segment i think in the beginning..?

g(anbaru) no arashi = i personally like G(enki) no arashi.. heh heh. But helping people do their best like dreamraine said.

m(endoukusai)* no arashi - it was jun cleaning things.. that was gross.. but secretly to make him get mad since he is such a cool calm guy.. lol.

n(i) no arashi - Nino pulls pranks on guests.. and the rest of the members sometimes. I think ohno is the most pranked on.

o(h) no arashi - picks two random picture.. then combines it into a drawing... then he shows it to the members and they put a price on it.

am i missing any of them? i don't know. I remember there was a wheel with letters but i forgot what those letters were meant for.

* thanks kikikiwi

Little correction - the 'M' in M no Arashi stands for mendoukusai. ^_^ And if all these letters aren't confusing enough, after the show was renewed from C no Arashi to D no Arashi, they had a segment called 'C no Arashi' in which the 'C' stood for 'contest'.
What does 'T' no Arashi stand for? Temporary?

Well, the Overseas Johnnys VCDs/DVDs that I've bought off YesAsia are definitely official and legal. They're released through Avex Taiwan which is related to Avex Japan. (Haven't bought any Arashi ones so I don't know if they're Avex too or not)
I have no idea why the price difference is so huge between 2 seemingly identical products though. Maybe it's a reflection on how much piracy goes on in different countries? I dunno. My question isn't really why the overseas ones are so cheap, but why the Japanese ones are so expensive.

In the case of T&T's new single, I think the bigger deal is that they recorded the song in all those different languages, not just that it's getting released outside Japan.

I'm so happy to hear about Nino's new acting gig. w00t!

I don't know what does T stand for ...it's basically Sho's segment showing photos of intereting subjects...Like there was one he showed interesting toilets....But the T doesn't stand for Toilet....haha, all I know is, me and Aiba think alike and we don't love the T no Arashi Sweat

And I think it's so fun to be an extra in Nino's dorama...can I survive being a full time 'extra' in Japn?

Heh heh.. mendoukusai.. i should of known. lol, thanks i'll edit my post.

for the "T" no arashi for sho's segment.. i dunno.. maybe it meant T(okuisei?) no arashi? lol.

w00t!

I think its something more to do with the economy of both countries. Like maybe other products like those dvd's and cd's have to meet market competition with the other taiwanese products and thus the cheapness.. While in japan.. they have a different market in which their products compete.

Japan has a better economy with residents who have a higher standard of living so their things will be more expensive, while in Taiwan and China, the standard of living is lower with a poorer economy.. thus their things will come cheaper.

Hi ShanghaiGal,

If it's true that Jun is going to star in a butai, how can I get tickets to the butai? I really wanna watch Jun in something since you've explained the con tickets are sooooo hard to get. Will the butai tickets be as difficult to get as the con?

Thank you.
