Okay, OMG.

I so just bought two tickets to Honolulu! Mr Green
We fly out on the 26th and are there until the 4th of August!

I'm sooooooooooooooooooo excited! Dancing
And I just can't hide it!
(Okay, I'll stop now Sweat )

Anywho, any tips, aho (or anyone else that lives there) on what we should do, where we should go?
We're not big party-party-ers, so stuff like Diamond Head, snorkeling spots, etc. would be cool!

I still can't believe I'm going to HAWAII!!! Beaten

I think climbing Diamond Head is awesome. It takes about 40 mins, and if you have a flashlight, bring it (there's an unlit tunnel section). You could snorkel in Hanauma Bay, but then again everyone snorkels there so it gets to be crowded. I haven't gone to North Shore yet, so I don't know if there is snorkeling there....I know that you can surf there.

A goog idea could be buying a interisland ticket and going to the outer Islands like Maui, Kauai and the Big Island. The Pace is different and I think its a whole other experence. But the question is why do people want to come to Hawaii for, Ive been trying to escape it my entire life.

Look me up! I'll pm you my cell#.

I think haunama bay is closed on tuesdays? (one day it's closed, I know that much)

there's also the Hawaiian Waters Adventure Park out in Kapolei, if you're into that kind of stuff.

Waikiki beach and the strip (at night! haha)

There's also some laid back Japanese bar/eating places that are cool to chill at. Oh, and there's the ramen restaraunt that I work at, if you want the best ramen on the island! (originated from a chain in Aichi, Nagoya)

North shore is also good to check out.

Diamond Head, like dochira said is also a nice hiking experience. -take bottled water if you're going. It's very hot walking up there, especially during summer time.

ty_taka_81 brings up a good point.
The outer islands are nice to check out too. It wouldn't be a bad idea, if you can afford to pump out a couple more dollars for interisland tickets.
Haleakala (on Maui) has a nice view.
Indeed the pace is very different! Very laid back. (no wonder so many big island people smoke weed all the time! haha j/k)

That how everything works. You want what you don't have. And when you have, you don't want it anymore.

When I was in school, I wanted to go work so badly. Now that I'm working, I don't mind taking classes again. Beaten

Surfing is always cool and they have easy longboarding lessons that be learned in like a very short time. Also Kayaking, Zipline, Chartered fishing trips, scuba, paintball. But if it's all about beaches, I think that Kauai's beaches are the nicest and not as crowded as Oahu's or Maui's.
I havent been to Oahu in a while, is it true that you have to pay to go to hanauma bay, that's kinda crazy.

i think it is five dollars and you have to watch this safety educational film for a few min's before going snorkeling..
the rental of equipment is not too bad in cost....
but snorkeling is great. Applaud

Wow, thanks guys for all the info!

We only really have the budget to go to Oahu, so there will be no interisland play for us... Well, this time anyway. Beaten

For those of you that live on Oahu, I have a few questions.

Can you snorkel anywhere? I mean, of course you probably could physically, but I mean, are there coral reefs and things to see in the water at all beaches around the island?

Also, does anyone know of any secluded areas where not many tourists go? I'd like to take my boyfriend somewhere nice while we are there where there are not that many people, but I don't think I'll find any place like that looking on the internet.

Anyway, if there are any more suggestions (must-go local eateries, etc.) that you can think of, let me know!

Thanks all!
