i agree with some of u guys...with NEWS suspension...yamapi's popularity can seriously drop if he has his break now...i mean....and with KT debut and so many singles coming out? ... those fans may shift from pi to jin or kame? no? i think its johnny's way of keepin pi alive? hahah...by makin fans see more of him..but i wonder wut he will do after kitty gym...its like 3-4 months left before the new year come...sigh

hmm.. if Yamapi "disappears" from the public eye, the people he stands to lose most are the novelty fans; the ones who love something when its on top, but once the object of their adulation falls from its pedestal, they scurry on to the next big thing. of course, it would also mean less new fans.
but, what he wouldn't lose are the fans who truly like him and would remember him always. Case in point- Uchi. He may have been gone for a little over a year. Completely, utterly spirited away from the public. But NEWS and K8 fans still remember him and are awaiting his return.
though all that doesn't mean that the popularity won't be affected, because it certainly will be, its just comforting to know that... we're still here!!!

I was hoping that he going to be in a Fall season drama from Oct. - Dec...hopefully...since the kitty gym things end in September neways..

Hmm, I agree, Signal is much better than Real Face (probably because they did a special PV for each of the KT member). If you guys watched the making of Signal and Real Face videos, I can say that they did a good job..lotsa work and effort on the setting. Whereas, NEWS Nippon..well, I don't wanna say anything coz I'd probably bash News and I don't want that . Let's just say that their videos were too simple or rises the question of what were the director and producers thinking . I guess that they fired the old director and producers so KT had the much more creative ones? . Although, I'm really glad that NEWS had the Cherish PV-that's their best one so far (setting was great, costumes were also great).

For me, NEWS will be even more awesome with all the eight members gaining the equal amount of exposure..not just focusing on one (again, that's just me, I'm all for the ideal equality...lol). Anyways, looking forward for their come-back ..can't wait for them to beat KT and have better videos than them . When I mentioned Yamapi losing popularity, I kinda meant what hantuwriter said- that hardcore fans like us will still be fans, but he won't be mainstream anymore. Of course he's super-popualar right now, but it can be fleeting if he doesn't keep it up, you know?

Heh, NEWS Nippon is one of my favorite songs, but I don't watch the PV, I watch the performances. Cuz the PV... But since Kat-tun was already popular, Johnny put a lot of money into making their debut as huge and awesome as possible- and it worked. Real Face is an awesome song, IMO, and so is the PV.

I don't really think the attention given to the NEWS members will ever be equal, cuz Yamapi is huge. But I hope they get more!

the NEWS Nippon PV definitely was weird and seemed low budget, as compared to KT's Real Face PV. But, I guess we have to factor in the fact that at the time of those two PV's, NEWS were relatively unknown, while KT already had a massive following. So it makes sense that KT's first PV had a higher budget than NEWS' first PV. That said, that's still no excuse for the kind of theme and setting the NEWS Nippon PV had
and, like Van said, different groups, different images . I personally liked Teppen best, simply because it looked like so much fun. Cherish... hmm.. only one part ruined it for me it was great otherwise

NEWS's pv and Kattun' s pv are different...their music too. However, i still love NEWS the most cause their clips are so energetic!!!

i dont think pi's popularity or any other will drop just because the whole group cant perform together for the rest of this year since each of the members got their individual works/assignments on hand... tv show/drama/record/radio/movie/blogs etc.... as for formation of GYM i think it is just a method to intro golf and mike to the japanese market faster. with pi in the group and with the fanbase for pi and NEWS, ppl will accept golf & mike faster and will be an instant hit for their single.

as for pvs, i personally like news nippon and teppen ^^
please dont compare NEWS with kat-tun as their path is kinda different.... although both group fans are mixed together in "You & J", NEWS path is more energetic and lively as compare to other... sunshine, sign of being "young", that's why it is always colorful to watch their pvs and their performances.

ermm.. I don't think that was what all of us meant when we were talking about possible drops in popularity. It wasn't about NEWS not being able to performing together affecting their popularity. From what I gather, which might be wrong, we were talking about what might possibly happen to Yamapi's popularity if he WASNT in KGYM. Because, if not, he wouldn't have any projects, thus no exposure.

but, I do think that the break has affected NEWS' popularity. It doesn't necessarily have to be a decline in order for it to be affected. Even if it remains constant, it is still affected when the popularity of other groups are on the rise.

I finally managed to watch YamaPi's Daite Senorita PV and the two Music Station Performaces. The PV is great, I love YamaPi! And I feel sorry for him, that when he droped the mike on his first solo Music Station Performace, everybody were laughted on him. That wasn't very nice. He's so good in solo too, I'll for him to be success in this way too.

Yeah, personally I think the suspension of NewS has cracked the foundations of the their fanbase. I remember after the news of their suspension there were already fans who doubted their return. And even the news KGYM added to that. I guess it seperated the good eggs from the bad, if you know what I mean ^^;;;;;;
