Tick?
Was the word 'tick' incorrect? I was referring to the sign which looks like a 'V' except the left hand side was about half the length of the right hand side.

OHHHHHHhhhh a check mark?
Example:
That's what I thought you meant. We call that a check mark in Canada, but tick works as well. Like "check off the box" can be "tick off the box" I believe. _________________

That is exactly what I meant. Glad we got that sorted out - I hated having a teacher question my 'answers'!

But I now know that the 'O' is an equivlant, because i wondered about that as well.
I believe in Japan when they grade (mark) a test, they mark EVERY answer. An 'O' means you got it right and an 'X' means you got it wrong. Check out the episode of Dragon Zakura where they have the practice test.

The Japanese has the habit of using a circle to signify OK, much as the rest of the world uses a tick.
Enlightened as well! That must be why the Japanese PS2 (and 3's I guess) use the O for accept and the X for cancel, which is opposite from the US console. Course, one could ask why did they have to change it for the US console.
